POST GAME [Round 18, 2023] Broncos vs Dolphins

FMD..................my heart can't handle this team...........:eyetwitch:

Reynolds downturn in form is concerning tho..................next year might be his last.

Bit hard being captain coach.

Totally unconvincing.

We struggled to beat the Knights
Lost to the Titans
Struggled past the Dolphins

Reynold's has been just so average and it's disappointing. The team is struggling and he's not really leading.

I was really really looking forward to watching Sailor, especially after that Warriors match but he was plain bad tonight. Smoothy wasn't great either.

Seems to be a habit that these talented youngsters with wraps come in to the first grade team and just play poorly.

Look, happy with the win but we are not troubling any of the real title contenders. We played less frantic in the first half but still looked completely lost in attack. I don't know what we do.

Thing i dont like is how easy we hand out contracts to people like Sailor. No need to upgrade him like we did.

both our halves have been poor last few weeks. wonder if ezra is injured. he is not taking the line on nearly as much as he was earlier in the season. And our captain feels like he is slowly getting worse each week . its a real worry. hes still a very solid 7 but hes not looking half as good as he did last year.

Woeful from many of our spine. House of Payne and Cobloaf won that. The end.

Interesting game, I don’t think it was all doom and gloom. We had nearly perfect completion rate in the first half, and looked well on top.

Things went bad when our reserves came on, and I think Smoothy is unlikely to get too much more game time. He has been pretty bad, with this game being particularly bad. Paix or Mozer please.

The last 20 we were good , as everyone has said Payne and Cobbo were our two best, but shout outs to Kotoni Staggs as well. He was getting rinsed early, but changed his defence accordingly and shut down the most dangerous player on the field.

This.

Rubbish across the park in attack.
Haas was incredible as always.
Cobbo, Herbie, Oates and Hetherington all good as well.

Not a GF winning side unless they get some cohesion in attack.
This game is an indication of just how important Walsh is to our offense.
Missing Riki and Capewell also probably plays a big part in our attack (and defence) too I reckon

I'll gladly eat my words. I was calling for Cobbo to be dropped after last week but tonight he had a blinder. That last try where he kept his arm off the ground so that it wasn't a double movement was awesome.

I thought Smoothy's first two games were good but tonight was a horror show for him and I'd say Paix will be back next game? I'm still not convinced Walters is up to it as an NRL hooker but he was better than Smoothy tonight.

That first Redcliffe try to the Hammer that was called back for obstruction should have been a try. There was no way Reynolds was getting anywhere near stopping him. Exactly the same as the one last week against the Titans where the bungler said Fifita was obstructed. Fifi would have needed a motorbike to catch Reece Walsh.

Clunky win with some dumb decision making but that's one we would have lost in previous years.

Am also very happy that Nui was let go to Redcliffe as Cobbo gave him an absolute bath. Nui may actually be the slowest winger in the comp.

I think a big reason Reynolds was poor was because of the ground, it's much harder to place your kicks where you want to on Ovals as it's harder to work out the line markings.

I thought his ability to pop a high ball off a lineout was exceptional though and nothing on him as they all cleared the 10.
