Come on you blokes leave the negativity to me aye. For once I’m not going to go ape shit. You have to remember that minus Gilbert this team we versed started the season well entrenched in the top 8 until they got smashed by injuries. They played well last night and we have to respect that.

We missed 4 rep quality starters, 2 playing origin, one former origin and a bloke who I have coming very close to dally m second rower of the year (not attainable anymore). That’s before acknowledging that Walshy would be there abouts leading the Dally M and is the key to unlocking Ezra and therefore Reynolds a little bit. Not to mention one of our most important players in Carrigan had to play on an edge where he is ineffective just to plug a whole.

A lot of shit has gone wrong for us in the last 7 days and we have managed to finish it off with a W. That’s something that would never have happened previously. Origin period is never easy but we have to keep moving forward and being hungry, that photo suggests that and some. You don’t want to climax at form just yet it’s a bit premature so let’s just keep getting W’s work our way to staying top 4 and finish the season strong with some key reinforcements back.

Crowd was 30,606. Capacity is 42,000.

Can anyone explain to me how this game was a sell out? I know parts of the stadium would have been closed off. It was advertised a day before the game that it was sold out, but you could still buy tickets on gameday and people were even at the ticket stations at the stadium getting tickets.

I don't see how it was a sell out.
42,000 is a myth the biggest Gabba crowd was 34,000 ish

I wonder if it has to do with a lot of season members taking their tickets to the game but not showing up

The Gabba wildly fluctuates because of decks and screens. The Lions had 37,000 in the 2019 finals and the biggest cricket crowd is 39,000 in 2006.

It's officially listed as 42,000 seats but capacity is 34,735.

A win is a win. It was clunky as it should be with so many starting forwards out and not much depth there plus losing the best fullback in the game and his replacement being quiet off little recent game time.

It’ll be clunky for another month yet but even so, we are probably now only one win from top 8 locked in if not already there and probably 3 wins from locked in top 4, all while not playing well.

Shout out to Piaks again because it was mentioned he was quiet, he was actually a big reason for Herbie’s tries. We haven’t had his line running ability for a very long time at the Broncs.

walters sounding better in the post match press conferences wonder if he is having media training?

Eh. Dolphins lost their best defender, Kaufusi, after 17mins. We're just not playing great. Now it looks like Haas is injured and that scares me. Who's going to pick up that 200m of hit-ups?

I don't mind us not finding the extra offloads, as our error counts have been creeping up. I just wanted high completion rates, which we got in the first half but that went out the window in the second.

Remember, we had almost everything go out way, definitely in the first half. 7-2 penalty count in our favour, double the sets. We have to get our attack sorted.

You seriously think in a game where your missing your best attacking weapon and your spine goes missing we are gonna put mass points on the board?

I thought we played like we were missing 3 quality starting forwards and our fullback.

I think it’s fair to criticise Reynolds leadership out there. We look like a kitchen full of hands with no chef.

They’re putting together wins though even without the basic fundamentals of building pressure and structuring an attacking set with a plan in mind.

When the rubber hits the road that won’t be enough vs Penrith/Melb/souths/cowboys.

Re-sign him now please.

He's apparently done his hamstring in the final minutes of the game, although Freddy is denying its true. Cant really find anything about it in the media.

That's the issue. They shouldn't go missing. You've got teams like the Panthers, who had six players out, including their two playmakers, still play cohesive and error free football. That's with fucking Cogger and Salmon in the halves.

You can say well they're the two time premiers but when you lose 6 of your starting 13 you could be forgiven for playing shit. Hell, we played better against the Warriors then we have the past 3 weeks.

We have absolutely no set plays that involve our second rowers. Its nuts. They never even look like running decoys. You see Nikora hit a line or run an X off his halfback, yet our second rowers haven’t been used in years. It makes our backline plays even harder. Very rare to see our wingers just stroll over untouched like others teams do. We still have no structure to the attack other then a sweep from Walsh. We aint winning no premiership like that.

Also, Tyson Smoothy needs to go.
What was really noticeable last night was the lack of off the ball movement. It was pretty easy pickings for the defense and we just relied on Herbie and Staggs trying to run through their man. This has been a problem for weeks in my opinion.

This is the main difference I see compared to the other top teams. We generally rely on a few hero plays to get us across the line, not fluent structures.

But the upside is that we have Walsh! And he can create numbers all on his own. I often wonder where the team would be this year if he want handed back to us. Pay Walsh and Haas whatever they won’t IMO.

Agreed, the ride or die fans will want you dismembered for saying it though.

Ignoring the quality we have on the sideline the fundamentals and the foundations of an 80 minute performance haven’t been consistent all
Season (regardless of us having our best side out there or not).

Whereas panthers have transited reserve players through and it still plays identical to their full strength side just without the polish.
