If Kev had a big circle around this game for the past 5 weeks (which it looked like he did in the first half), it has not worked out for him.

It's time for some tough questions to be asked. Not least of which why Penrith have been able to play like Olympians for the full 80 minutes for the past 3 years.
You're gonna talk about Kevvie having a circle around this game, but not think Penrith had this game on their radar for awhile as well.

Did you happen to see how fucking garbage penrith were last week? How they rested fucking everyone last week?

And then even threw some last minute shenanigans into their final team make up...

Watching the first 10-15mins of that game I was like "this is living up to a grand final replay"... broncos turned up, penrith turned up ... completion rates were 100% for both teams and the game was fucking intense and physical.

We were matching them despite our terrible fucking bench, Patty having to play on the edge, Oates on the edge, Staggs missing, etc.

Cheer up Broncos fans! It’s not all doom and gloom, please look on the bright side!
We have Baker out 🙏🏻 and old mate Madden looked pretty gone too.
That means Rogers gets a crack (can’t be worse than Jock) and we can always replace Baker with an inanimate carbon rod.

Oates should never be picked as a first grade winger again in his life. Bloke is slower and less agile than half the props in the game.

I liked that fact that we look so threatening with all the off the ball movements and shapes we show every team when we attack their line. Constant movement and making the defence have to think about who’s getting it.
Sarcasm.
We have all these one out plays and the occasional Walsh sweep. No one falls for that shit, it’s not NRL standard.

I know people blame Hetherington's drop ball on the Panthers line but not attempting to catch the bomb from that 7 tackle set made me angrier. Fucking BS no one bothered to even attempt the catch in the middle of the field...

Positive was that the Panthers didn't regain the ball from the short drop kicks!

That Kobe Hetherington error is going to keep me up all night.

Brisbane just about scored the play before with Haas. Then Kobe changes his line at the last second per Walsh's instructions, gets in the way of Walters and just about loses it. Kobe recovers only to stumble up, get easily tackled and lose the ball in the direction the Panthers player suspiciously follows through with.

However since nobody from Brisbane falls on it, it can't be challenged and since the bunker rarely over-turns strip calls likely would have gone the Panthers way regardless.

There's a few things at play here. Firstly, Haas should have been thrashing around and making life difficult for the defenders. Instead they get an age to set themselves and just about all the good work has been ruined. Regardless, it's a metre out from the line and there's no thought of a crash play. You've just set a standard line down the right. If the option was Billy, then back inside to Kobe OK, but even so it seems like a waste.

Brisbane still need to figure out which players they ought to be giving the ball close to the line as well. Piakura or even Oates would be my options.

They also need to break the habit of long passes. It works OK for Ezra who can step back inside but in general they look so much better working off short passes.

I’ve been around it my whole life. He’s on the gear, to build that amount of muscle and maintain it while having an elite aerobic capacity when not being born with a freak genetic build to start with…he’s never tired, while being 40kg heavier than a very good marathon runner.

While other members had a bad case of acne from no where…..

I've got no idea why we even use Deine Mariner for outside back hitups out of yardage, other than the fact we don't have anyone else. He can't run it straight because he will be smashed, so he slides across the field trying to run between two tacklers and still ends up in a dominant tackle. While Oates has lost his pace, you can still see the value of having outside backs that can win a decent play the ball speed coming out of their own end.

Walsh is winning quicker play the balls than most of our outside backs. Arthars does a decent job and Cobbo can, but he is prone to fading in and out of games and sometimes his hitups look lazy. Who else do we have though besides these two that can win the ruck out of their own end? Until we get some size and strength in the backs, we need to be telling a second rower and middle to get back quicker for a hitup.

Kevvie's decision to focus on speed and agility over size and strength is not the way, in my opinion.

What decision are you talking about here..?

The only other outside back we have that didn't play last night was israel leota.. the kid who made 19 errors in kids origin.

We have nobody else for kevy to choose from. Our meter eater outside back JP just retired, hoeter injured...

The change his body went through between 2018 and 2019 after his shoulder operation was remarkable
