Our props + Parker won us that game. Norman and Wallace were LOLZ once again, Hoffman played shit for the first 65 mins, but made up for it with the fantastic last 15. Hodges is predictable and a bad defender. Our attack in the opposition 20 still looks like shit. Not much to say, other than that we've got a great mentality this year, grinding away wins.

Also it's kind of funny how Parker's goalkicking actually won us the game for once, haha.

The positives are our defence held up quite well against a very good attacking side. The negatives is all our players we really need to get our attack working better are in dreadful form. Norman wasn't too bad but still kills the play a fair bit. Wallace and Hodges were horrendous. McGuire once again a standout in the forwards. Alex Glenn is a superstar, he just keeps getting better.

Backs and halves may not have been great but our forwards did pretty damn well in tough conditions. Warriors pack can't be underestimated, despite his mistake Matulino is a world class prop, Packer is tough and when Mateo is 'on' (which he was) he can be tough to take yet we did it.

Hodges' performance pissed me off. Our entire team is there putting their bodies on the line and the best he can manage is to stick the arm out? Piss-weak. Wallace may have been a set-killer but Hodges was dead-set not even in the game. Hopefully it's a one off, he needs to belt up.

If this is the game we build our charge into the finals on, fantastic.

Do you think the injury Hodges copped to the ribs a few weeks backs in playing on his mind? He defended the same way in Origin. Just threw his arms at the opposition to make a tackle instead of putting his body on the line.

I don't really ever recall Hodges putting his body on the line in defense TBH, certainly not in recent years anyhow. He doesn't really have a very aggressive defensive style.

Unless he suffered the injury before the Newcastle game where Boyd ran through him like he was nothing (then bombed it,) then honestly I just think he lacks confidence in his body in general.

Oh and NOW it's fair to say we have a backline crises. No Yow Yeh, Reed, Copley, Kahu and Hodges is looking off.

user - I reckon Hodgo is hot and cold in defence. Sometimes he'll pull off some amazing reads and go for a ball and all tackle. Other times, he'll do his best impression of a turnstyle. Annoys me.

No doubt he can come up with some good reads to shut down a play, but it will never be with a last ditch tackle.

Looks like Copley will be out. So I'd have Whitchurch or Maranta back in. Would consider both actually. Shift Beale to left wing, Maranta right, Whitchurch left centre.

Ahhh, excuse my semantics. When I think aggressive tackles, I think somebody rushing out of the line to shut down a play or chasing down kicks to tackle people in goal. Plays he normally comes up with. :tongue_smilie:

Hodgo definitely isn't gutsy.

Mustn't be a bad break for him to be walking around fairly well in the sheds. Sucks because he has actually been good lately.

Strangest broken leg.

Kid was walking around alright.

Heard it was just an ankle.
