PRE-GAME Round 19 - Eels vs Broncos

I mean I know teo is a bit heavy but surely he’s not prop heavy.

On a positive note, that starting side has some real experience which is a department we've lacked in. A starting pack of offa, teo, Carrigan, fifita and Glenn SHOULD and i stress should hold their own. If they play how they have so far this year the eels will absolutely make them look like grade 10 school girls. However paying to full potential they're all proven solid players.

That bench However is a different story and totally unproven. Nevertheless given the proven experience in that side I'd be very disappointed to see them drop their bundle and let in fast, soft tries in quick succession. Luke, Glenn, Teo, Boyd, Offa, Oates and even Fifita are rep players and need to show some heart and make a fist of this.
We have been decimated by injuries all year. We have been terrible but the injuries aren't irrelevant. I'd love to see how many games our edge defence and spine have had to be changed due to injury.

My only memory of this game is the video referee accidentally awarding a penalty try on I believe the second Eels try.

I just about fell out of my chair until they corrected themselves.

At least that's how I remember it. I haven't seen the game since that Sunday arvo 20 years ago.

I never felt comfortable during that finals series, even the GF felt strangely tense like the Roosters could mount a comeback at any moment.

The first try scored by Burt.

I watched that try many times over trying to figure out where the hell the penalty was. Tallis completely missed Burt when he slid in with the knees. I didn't realize that they corrected themselves, I can't remember the game all that much and I only have the highlights video that's up on Kayo so they didn't include that part where the video ref corrected themselves.

It seemed like an obvious mistake at the time but after the Origin I controversy I wasn't so quick to jump to conclusions. I just remember everyone had a bit of a laugh over it and that I felt the game was decided once they missed the kick. I felt confident it'd take the wind out of their sails and Thorn went onto confirm that.

I'm kinda excited to see what gamble plays like, hoping he has a big game.

I bet he will go alright, a bit of a risk but the odds are he will be solid. I wouldn't gamble my house on him though. Hehe

I have only seen him when he played that stint off the bench earlier this year.

He seemed reasonably big for a half (189cm and 97kg on Broncos profile) so he may actually complement Dearden in the halves.

If he has some skills then he could be a big body to put some pressure on the defensive line.. I recall him being fairly rangy as well. Hopefully he can hold his own in defense as well.

Looking at those stats again is there an opportunity he could be converted to a 2nd rower @Wolfie ??

Looks to be the same size as Wade Graham... although Graham plays with a lot of intensity so Gamble would need to have that in him to make the transition.

What's his play style like??
