Nah 2nd 5 / 8 .
He takes the ball on the run a cpl of passes wide . Half is 1st receiver and closer to the ruck .
mate half the time the Carrigan is first receiver, in the modern game locks are being used more and more as first receiver.

The opposition 2nd rowers would be licking their lips .
He is not up to making 20 tackles on the edge .

He is an attacking weapon . A liability in defence .
Defending as a fullback and defending on the line are soo different there is no way you can assume to think he could or couldn't handle it, most tackles Reece has to do he has players flying at him at much higher speed often as last man, totally different, in comparison most tackles halves make they have help.

My car is parked at Oxley station ... I could walk there, pick up my car and still get home to Ipswich before a train arrives to take me home
We parked at Oxley too. I grew my beard back waiting for the train at Milton

How did you find your first game back at Suncorp??
Just being there was awesome. Frustrated at what was a sloppy game from both sides.
Was great to see star moments though, Walsh, Cobbo, Mariner all can turn poor games into a Broncos win with a moment of magic.
Disappointed but not surprised at the cost of food & drink.
Happy to see 35k for a Thursday night….. it was a bit harder getting up for work the next morning too.

Overall it was great to be back!

Interesting takes .
He spends a lot of his time on his haunches talking to trainers . Who does his tackles while he recovers ?
Not to say he couldn`t do it . He has abilities and drive like few others . I just don`t see him consistantly tackling locks and 2nd rowers ATM .

Yep sloppy game to view... happy to get the two points out of it. Thought we looked a bit better for the second half.

Food and drink at Suncorp is ridiculous, but it's not much better anywhere nowadays unfortunately.

Happy to see you had a good night given it's been in the works for so long!!

Both of those tries from Mariner, Oates does not score those. He doesn't even come close.

We have a genuine speedster for kicks behind the line, I'm willing to sacrifice the metres Oates makes for that. And that chip and chase try, the confidence to even try it..

I would like to think he's putting the debate to bed on whether Oates should be in the side over him.
Also his chase on Johnson. Corey doesn't get close. Mariner had to turn and close a 10+ meter gap and was able to do it easy.

I think Mariner looks great for this early in his career. Hasn't fully developed so will gain some strength. He will be a weapon for us, I think.

This may be a long ball but I would sit Oates down and give him the Hancock option. If Oates could morph into a bench forward he could potentially stay in the team. There is no reason he couldn't give us Twenty plus in the middle. He has the size. If required he could fill in st second row or on the sting. He is almost the perfect utility forward. Just not a lock as I doubt he can pass.

But at this moment Hetherington needs to improve or he is on his way out. I would consider Oates as his replacement and Wilison in for Tapua.

I might get the occasional slip up if you lost a big game and the emotion got the better of you, but this guy just cussed a handful of times after putting in a shit performance.
Its not necessary and this is a family sport.

Hope he gets a nice fine for it to be honest.

Looks like he could be fined.

The media are to blame with some of the shit, they come out with.

I would ban myself from media interviews, like Cameron Smith did.

Some of the dumb questions Dobbo etc ask, I would punch them in the face.

Do you want Walsh to get the ball first or do you want him second or third on an edge? It’s a simple choice for me.

I think Musta saw Walsh step through the Rabitohs ruck the other night and thinks he could do that every week .
He will be better value out wider and on both sides of the field IMO . He throws some very nice passes out there .

He is obviously a better fullback, but I still don't see any evidence he can't play 7, I never once said I would prefer him at 7 over fullback don't know how many times I have to repeat that before it sinks in.

Since Reynolds has left souffs, he has a record of 5 wins and 1 loss against them lol...

Since Reynolds has left souffs, they have finished an average of 8th place. We have finished an average of 5.5th place. The 3 years prior, souffs finished an average of 5th making the preliminary final 2 years and the grand final in 2022 with mitchell out. We finished an average of 13th, including 1 wooden spoon and no finals.

If you think Reynolds isn't among the greatest retention **** ups (souffs) and retention coups (broncos) in the respective club histories, you're an idiot.

Add to that he is a club legend and wanted to stay for peanuts.... ffs. And his post career desire to help out the club through invaluable coaching with his smarts o the fields... he could be held together with tape, nearly is, and he's still great for us overall...

This is the part that keeps me warm at night tbh. The guy wanted to stay at Redfern...would have stayed for less than what we're paying him but in their brilliance, they thought it best to let him go.

Boggles the mind but I'm thankful for their stupidity.
