Who is your coach of choice then?
That was a joke. Obviously the best option for coach is Wayne.
Who is your coach of choice then?
Disagree. How can the forwards lay a platform with the terrible and readable ball they are getting. Melbourne were so in the forwards faves and never in fear of a half darting or being creative with the ball. Coupled with the terrible last play kicking options the forwards had to work overtime in defence with the storm starting with easy meteres after most kicks.
This McCullough bullshit has to stop. The difference was in the ruck. Melbourne were slowing us down by twisting and manipulating our players, so by the time the PTB occurs, they're already off their line and in our faces. It's not because McCullough is slow, it's because he doesn't have the same time Smith has. When we were going well last night, we were putting their runners on their backs and similarly starving them of fast PTB's. Smith's time was reduced, we were able to get up fast, hence why were able to contain their momentum and keep them out for a good 40 - 50 minutes.

TPJ looked underdone, but if he was good enough to play 50 odd mins he’s good enough to start. My back row for this game would be: 11. Gillett, 12. Fifita (who cares if he had a bad game in D against the tits, Su’a and Glenn (who was invisible) just had bad ones against the storm in actual nrl), 13. tpj/ Carrigan (if tpj can’t play for whatever reason or Lodge is suspended and they want tpj in the middle rotation off the bench).
Fifita also got bamboozled in defence for that last try. Or was it laziness, although he was virtually fresh, so should not have been that. This is why he is still learning and probably coming off bench. Su'a impressed me in defence and i think he wouldn't be a bad 13 until TPJ starts. I dont think we will see many unforced changes for next week though. After watching the game again today, it really wasnt as bad as some are saying.
If Roberts and Lodge are out, I'd go with:
1. Isaako
2. Oates
3. Staggs
4. Bird
5. Boyd
6. Milford
7. KNik
8. TPJ
9. Macca
10. Joffa
11. Glenn
12. Gillett
13. Carrigan
14. Turpin
15. Flegler
16. Mago
17. Fifita
I know it won't happen.
I was actually looking at that really closely. At first I too thought it was Fifita's fault for being sucked in by Munster and leaving his inside free. However on the replays you could see that Munster was Fifita's player - if he didn't get to him then there would have been an overlap on the outside which they would have been able to exploit.
Lodge looking at 2 weeks on the sidelines with a grade 2 charge. We should really challenge for a downgrade as he wont miss any more games with an unsuccessful challenge.
We have no structure in attack. We literally look clueless close to the line. Last night, the fuckwads were kicking early. And shit kicks at that. If that's Seibold's plan, he can **** off back to Harvard. Maybe open a fish and chip shop there.
I can see this season is going to be just like the last while we have Macca gumming up the works. Getting rid of him, or at least away from the football, will be the key. Poor bugger, he has a massive heart, but coupled with a tiny football brain. If Seibold can't see what everyone else sees, he's not a coach's sphincter. It won't be a pleasant job dropping him, but that's why he's on those big bikkies.
Maybe he could hide Boyd on the wing. He's clearly no good at fullback anymore, and Isaako has been found wanting in defence out there. I suspect Milford might be better at fullback than five-eighth, but I can't see that happening. Boyd needs to work on his fish and chip game because that's what's in his future. He'd look fantastic in a hairnet.
The current halves will need to be broken up: one of either Niko or Milford needs to move and make way for one of the youngsters who know how to kick tactically, and can communicate with the rest of the team so they might even chase the ball occasionally. From what I've seen of the youngsters, they're all better at that than Milford and Niko.
Finally, Roberts, cut off that bogan rat tail. It's not 1983.
Are you for real? We've been watching Macca's mediocre play for years. This isn't a one game phenomenon. He is the front-line ball handler. He touches the ball more than any other player. And he offers nothing in attack. He can't even pass the ball without it rotating end over end. This McCullough bullshit has to stop. The difference was in the ruck. There were a couple of moments in the second half when I'd agree with you but overall, no.No structure are you kidding we were moving the ball like champions and as soon as we got into Melbournes 20 we scored.
