PRE-GAME Round 2 - Broncos vs Cowboys

Yeah it feels like some people are just making up shit to justify their anger at the team.

(The above shouldn't be taken to mean that the team doesn't have any problems and that all criticism is invalid. I'm talking about the usual suspects who rely on hyperbole and never use examples to support their claims.)

"Finally, Roberts, cut off that bogan rat tail. It's not 1983."

Lmfao

Hey Jimmy, the 80's just called, said they want all their bogan rat tails back. Sorryaboutthat, but it's gotta go, it's slowing you down, causing us bad luck, and just flat out scaring the mums and kids..

We have no structure in attack. We literally look clueless close to the line. Last night, the fuckwads were kicking early. And shit kicks at that. If that's Seibold's plan, he can **** off back to Harvard. Maybe open a fish and chip shop there.

I can see this season is going to be just like the last while we have Macca gumming up the works. Getting rid of him, or at least away from the football, will be the key. Poor bugger, he has a massive heart, but coupled with a tiny football brain. If Seibold can't see what everyone else sees, he's not a coach's sphincter. It won't be a pleasant job dropping him, but that's why he's on those big bikkies.

Maybe he could hide Boyd on the wing. He's clearly no good at fullback anymore, and Isaako has been found wanting in defence out there. I suspect Milford might be better at fullback than five-eighth, but I can't see that happening. Boyd needs to work on his fish and chip game because that's what's in his future. He'd look fantastic in a hairnet.

The current halves will need to be broken up: one of either Niko or Milford needs to move and make way for one of the youngsters who know how to kick tactically, and can communicate with the rest of the team so they might even chase the ball occasionally. From what I've seen of the youngsters, they're all better at that than Milford and Niko.

Finally, Roberts, cut off that bogan rat tail. It's not 1983.
this was a quality rant, 10/10, a+++ would buy again

They can’t be serious with that grade two charge. Lodge goes to tackle him whilst he is on the ground and isn’t even looking at him as contact is made. Plus the first contact was high on the legs not below the knees. I’m actually gobsmacked that he even got charged. If he misses two weeks our season is off to a terrible start. Haas suspended, lodge suspended and Roberts potentially out for a while. Just a really bad start.

I think he should just wear the two weeks ...

I'd challenge it.

Considering his initial trajectory had him heading for Munster's hip, he was already well in to the tackling motion when Munster kicked. It's not really his fault that Munster decided for whatever reason to jump 5 feet in the air after he kicked it to try and avoid the contact, if he just stayed on the ground like a normal person the contact would've been fine.

Macca is mediocre, he always will be. The problem though is that as good as Turpin looks, he doesn't have the speed that Cook had which meant Cook was crying out to be included over Farah.

That said, Siebs was bold enough to give the gig to Cook over Farah, so he isn't against making a huge gamble like that if it is warranted. Turpin needs to just make sure he is making a huge impression in the ISC and if he (or someone else) does, you never know what might happen.

That said, KNik will also be feeling the heat from the young and upcomers as well but I actually thought Knik was better than Milf last night but both were stunted on the back of their forwards getting totally dominated and therefore no field position. Not only that, Melbourne was in their faces all night and rushing them, Munster and Croft on the other hand had all the time in the world to get their kicks away.

Hopefully Sieb's takes the opportunity with Roberts being likely out and Staggs in at centre to bring another hooker on to the bench to put pressure on Macca. Alternatively, put KNik at 14 and bring in SOS or one of the kids but that would be extremely disruptive on team cohesion.

A few things here:
Lodge is on the ground behind the ruck leaving us a man down in the middle.
Joffa takes Smith who holds him back (just a split second and doesn’t really affect play but shows his sneaky mindset).
Fifita goes across following Munster and the gap inside opens up.
Boyd falls for the dummy.

Macca should sign elsewhere. Maybe if he plays behind a forward pack that isn't the worst in the comp for play the ball speed the bullshit criticism will end.

Which clubs do you think would take him?
Based on which team has an inferior hooker, the Knights, Warriors, Bulldogs, Tigers, Manly, Cowboys, Dragons, Panthers, Eels would definitely prefer him over Levi, Roache, Lichaa, Farah, Koroisau, Granville, McInness, Katoa and Mahoney. Including us that is 10 clubs

You think there would be a 10 club bidding war on a 29yo hooker that's known mostly for his defensive work. One that got dropped/benched in a rep team for a makeshift hooker?

Ok then.

You know full well that isn't what's being argued. Obviously it would depend on cap space but if they could sign him they would 100% be interested. They'd much prefer a hooker who can get close to a rep team over the garbage they currently have. My favourite part is that the Brisbane Broncos are the one club who is interested enough to keep him.

I just don't believe that there'd be many suitors for him if he was available on the market. Some clubs might sign him as a stop gap but i would suggest most would prefer to look to their juniors, he isn't getting any younger and while he is great defensively, he really doesn't offer much in attack.

I get the argument that he was good enough to make a rep team, but by the end of the series a makeshift hooker was spending more time in the position than he was - not exactly a ringing endorsement is it?

What do you see in him that makes you think he is more than just a defensive sponge that kicks the occasional 40/20?

I don't mind McCullough, you can't have million dollar players in every spot. But is it too much to ask that he learns how to spiral pass?
