POST GAME Round 2 - Broncos vs Rabbitohs

He seemed to hit up around his thigh, but slid down so quickly that it looked bad. Just a fine, plus two weeks loading for wearing maroon and gold.

Yeah I noticed that on the reverse angle after watching another replay. First contact seemed to be around the ass/upper thigh. Fucking ridiculous penalty.

I really like the decisions Seibold has made this year.

Most impressive for me was when Macca came on and stunk it the **** up before half time he was promptly hooked at the break. That's something I don't think other coaches have had the balls to do and I'm just glad Macca is finally on the outer, we look mightily better with Turpin directing the pack.

Really good start to the year, I wasn't impressed last year but Boyd is pretty decent at centre, Isaako looks like he could build into a good fullback, Croft is exactly the halfback we've been missing for 10 years and Milford looks fit and firing again.

I'd be really excited but I feel like the season is going to be postponed at any minute but so far so good.

It was a gritty win, not clinical but a win obtained by effort. I got very worried in the first half when two drop balls led to two tries but it improved in the second half. Unfortunately when croft left our 5th tackle play resorted to a bomb. Hopefully dearden can help out next week.

I feel for macca, he tries but is just not nrl level anymore. As soon as he came on to play dummy half, we seemed to lose forward momentum. He is not deceptive in which direction he will be passing the ball and cant throw the longer passes other hookers do, so our early hit ups are being picked off by the markers.

In defence, although he makes the tackle, he incurs post contact metres and doesnt control the ruck (put the player on their back). With ISC cancelled it may be hard for paix to demonstrate he is ready for a shot.

I would like to see Haas pass at the line once or twice in a game.

He attracts so many defenders that a pass at the line could potentially open up the opposition on the edge.

Oates Injury was timely. He needed to go. Couple weeks out and return via the bench. Ideally I think

1. Isaako
2. Farnsworth
3. Staggs
4. Arthurs
5. Boyd

Boyd just doesn't have the movement to be a centre and doesn't pass or tackle break or anything. Put him in the wing or out if the team.

flegler has his best game he and Carrigan could make origin with this form

isaako must be surprising himself with two great Games. Confident under the high ball, looking to put something on on kick returns, sniffing around the ruck and even fluency in passing on the edges, good on him.

if they knew Glenn wasnt starting the season and that we would be 2/2 with the pressure not being as bad as first thought I think they wo made Carrigan captain from the start what a champion this guy will be

These are games we lose last season. Early days of course, and will say a lot more if we are winning these in rounds 14-20.

Even though he had a terrible trial period and Bird got it almost by just not being shit, how good is Jamayne going? He's passing (and well), that nifty little grubber, outside the cramp spilled ball last week - no glaring mistakes, and staying alive in support. Glad he's doing well and that he's getting some confidence out of these performances. Might need to have have that conversion radar looked at though (or just give the tee to Staggs for my SVRL team ... pls)

It's easy to get overly-critical and glass-half empty, but there's so much to love about this team.

Kotoni, Herbie, Turps, Haas, Fifita, Patty, Lodge, Pangai, Flegler (brilliant game tonight). They are all exciting. Even a guy like Arthars seems really solid and likeable

Croft has been a fantastic addition, and without really doing a lot. Not to turn this into an anti-Bennett thing, but I can easily see a timeline with him that still has Bunt or Kodi playing 7. We've recruited a half and it's already paid dividends, just in how we play, not even counting wins or losses.

I'm trying to keep a lid on it, but I'm enjoying watching our team again. It won't always be rainbows and puppy dogs, and we probably will have some dire games that we'll either blow leads or get pumped, but I like this team a lot more than in recent years
