Round 20 - Brisbane vs Melbourne - LIVE Discussion

Has to be the worst game Hunt has played in his career...Mind you the Storm have been hammering him all night and he's gotten some piss-poor passes, but if he wants to command some $$$ in his next contract, he needs to be able to play through that.

Sad thing is now that we have been beaten by such a margin, Griffin will use it to justify Reed starting in the centres.

The blokes from dumb and dumber could coach this team better than Griffin.

Could have used Granville back end of te first half and Kennedy over reed just cause... Deplorable bench selections and usage...

Granville has been playing better than McCullough lately, when we started poorly a couple of times, him coming on gave us momentum to fight back. Griffin drops him, and gives 2 bench players a combined grand total of like 3 minutes.

Well your wish will be granted, WB will sack players & we will get ****ing Boyd back. (Wayne's 2nd son)

Yeah we are much better served with the likes of Griffin's lovechild's like Reed, heaven forbid we actually reward players who want to be in first grade and earn their spot, heaven forbid we select a bench that is actually suitable for our needs, heaven forbid we cut the deadwood of the side that a real coach understands needs to be done.

WB is no different, he selects his favourites, even when they are playing like shit etc

Every coach has their favorites, your right Bennett is no different in that respect, he also has shown the ability to make critical changes to the sides he has that have lead them to premierships. Tell me Kaz, how many coaches in the game past and present would have had the balls to even contemplate not only sacking an Immortal as captain considered a god not just at the club in the state, but also moving him to make way for a young playmaker which ultimately lead that young playmaker being a major factor in 5 of the premierships he won at the club? Telling Michael Hancock, one of his definite favorites he wasn't wanted at the club wouldn't have exactly been easy for him now would it?

he also took 5 seasons to win his first premiership (6 if you include his 87 season at the Raiders)... in his 4th season as Broncos coach (the same season Griffin is in) he missed the finals with a team that contained Lewis, Langer, The Walters brothers, Gilmeister, Miles Shearer, Matterson etc.

Taking a side to their first grand final in his first NSWRL season and laying the foundation for coming premierships is quite an achievement, he also coached a number of those players in the Brisbane competition prior to that where he won a premiership with Souths and took them to a grand final prior to that against Wynnum Manly which was considered the rep side of the Brisbane in the Brisbane competiton. As for the Broncos, they underachieved in their first two seasons(managed to win the panasonic cup), made it to the semi finals in 1990 and won the reserve grade final, the seeds of success were planted through that period though and the majority of those in their first grade premiership winning side in 1992 were developed under Wayne Bennett, including two of the Walters brothers(of who'm only one of those had played for another club prior to the Broncos and that was under Bennett). They may not have done as well as predicted, but he showed during that period he was willing to make very tough decisions with the roster and the best interests of the club and they certainly were heading in the right direction and Bennett had said when he joined the club it was a 5 year goal to their first premiership which he achieved.

Anyway mate we could argue this for days and really it gets us nowhere, how about we just agree to disagree?
