PRE-GAME Round 20 - Broncos vs Storm

I think people need to watch the replay.

Contact was with the upper arm/pec. If there was any contact with the shoulder, it's very minimal. It's not a Grade 2 worthy charge. Not even close.

One angle does tend to give the impression it was the shoulder but actually contact was with the pectoral, arm pit area directly below the clavicle. I disagree with the grading and quite honestly that kind of contact would probably happen 20 times a game or more. It should have been penalty sufficient and not a sin bin. Incidentally ,Alexander is an idiot.

Watching the replay of the Titans game now. As much as it pains me to say this, and all the while trying to find some excuses, I don't think Sami fell into it at all, TPJ was just reckless as ****.

Falling into it would be more like KHunt vs Anasta

It was pretty well front on, he didn't jump up , he's not particularly tall(TPJ) and he didn't turn a shoulder into him. If he had bent at the waist, driving in he would have snapped him in half. It wasn't late so there really wasn't much wrong with the tackle. Contact with the head did happen so a penalty was warranted but it was accidental. Still, it makes no difference what we think.

No Shoulder unless you think his Peck is one.

Not worth Fighting though, he risks two games if he loses which he will because the MRC is totally incapable of using reason to determine suspensions.

But the fact Copely makes contact with him thus putting him off balance and the winger is falling and there is no shoulder contact means any decent lawyer representing him will get him off. I say show some cajones and fight the bullshit ruling.

Yes and no. It's pretty well predetermined and that's the problem. Having Gillo back will be good, he is highly effective in stopping play but definitely not as creative. He can run a good line in attack. We're a chance of getting them.

Garbage Kikau got hit with an absolute disgrace of a decision just last week.

We should take the 1 week and move on... Kikau tried to fight it last week and copped 2. Just have to deal with it because after Kikau no one is getting off
Except for Ponga. He can drive an elbow or shoulder into the head of a player who doesn't even have the ball and the MRC will say it's ok. Commentators will froth over what a classy guy he is because he looked after the person he seriously injured. The Matty Johns show will continue to pump him up every chance they get and all the while Knights fans will whinge about the Broncos' advantages of being a one-team town and having the media in our pockets.

Copley interfered with his running line with a little nudge. So the result of this "shoulder charge" was not his fault alone. Should be let off.

Was he charged with a 'shoulder charge'?

When Milford got nailed against the Bulldogs last week and went off for HIA was old mate sent for 10, reported and suspended?

Whatever... What’s done is done, but **** putting a hit on a winger that’s just caught the ball is pretty standard.

Not sure if I missed it, but has anyone mentioned yet that, at the time, the Titans were down to 12 men with Gordon out for his professional foul? The refs HAVE to square everything up, in a situation like this they will find any excuse to put a player from the other team in the bin.

It was high, and reckless, but not Grade 2, and certainly not worthy of 10 in the bin. If TPJ had a clean record, justice would see him getting points but no suspension. As it is, with carry-overs, even a deserved Grade 1 would have him sitting out.

It’s the nrl. You’re not allowed to smash anyone anymore. They tackle harder in the afl sometimes
