I actually thought Hunt had one of his better games at 9 against the Storm. Against any other team his dart from dummy half, he scores. Storm defense was just way too good. He had that chip behind the line with good runners, but Widdop was way too good. However, I do think with another forward on the bench we may have had a bit more muscle at the back end of the game. Keep in mind me kept the Storm scoreless for 50 minutes. We do that in a semi final with improved attack we're a big chance!

I wanted Macca booted only about a month ago, but he's certainly upped his game and only needs to become an 80 mins player to suddenly be amongst the best in the business (Smith is a class apart still though).
I agree that Glenn could perfectly fill the void during Macca's rest stints, move Thaiday into the front row and put Gillett in his position.

Gagai on the wing with Reed as his centre, unless his form keeps deteriorating, in which case I would slot Te'o in there.

On the bench, Te'o for impact, Carlaw, McGuire and Hala (yes, I went there, Carlaw in the 17 with a full strenght team)

I'm going to jump on the Gagai boat. I think he offers a lot more to the team in attack than Beale who IMO offers nothing in attack besides dummy half running and being a "safe" option. Gagai is a risk, no doubt but he has game breaking ability, could prove crucial in a finals match.

I don't know though it's hard to drop Beale because he's been very good to solid the whole year, hardly put a foot wrong.

I didn't start watching league until 08, looking at the 06 win/loss there was a string of loses then we hit form from round 24 onwards.

The team this year has a lot of great attacking players in it, I hope Griffin can make our attack really come together in the next month - it all starts with spanking the Sharks.

i dont see a need to change the team other than maybe/probably hunt. question mark on him but i'm happy enough for the 17 to stay the same.

Yeah I'm not being critical of Hunt as a performer. Simply that he isn't bringing to the team what I think we need right now. But then, I'm not Anthony Griffin, so that is pretty meaningless.

Also think it's better for Hunt's chances of securing a 6 or 7 jersey next year to be playing full time 80 minutes against men in that position. Q Cup has to be on the agenda. IMO.

One of my pet gripes is the obsession with different socks, jerseys etc for different "Causes". Think Pink round is one thing, but **** it goes over the top. Is the PNG Bid logo on the Broncos' shorts not enough?
