Well, at least we dont need to worry about for and against anymore. Just win 5/5 and we might make it! believe!

We certainly did run out of gas. Travelling back to back and a tough game in Townsville will do that to you. So many good signs and I think we had enough chances to win but we couldn't get it done. Hunt was superb at times but just needs time to get better. Our kicking game let us down IMO. Our long kicking game in particular hasn't been great. McGuire probably played his best game for the season tonight.

The problem is the hooking plan. Macca goes ok for first 20 but is a slow player. He then gets replaced by another slow hooker. This helps the opposition as they are tiring. What we need is speed when macca goes off. Time to let Granville bloom in top grade coach. Wallace is done

Proud of the effort tonight, but thank whatever god you pray to for Newcastle being a bunch of twats....they lost that game in golden point IMO.

Don't deserve to make the 8 and would rather we won't as a first round flocking doesn't sound nice.

I dunno, get Copley and Kahu on the wings back, Glenn back, and we could pull off a first round upset.

In all honesty we should have had 24-30 points in that first half. Maranta bombed a try. Oates needed to come in from the sideline and take the tackle, same with hunt when he made his break. But, still it was great to see an excellent match from Ben Hunt - he was a deserved MOTM.

Did we even have a set of six in our attacking half in the second half?? The try was a long range effort, can't think of any actual sets where we got to attack their line.

Golden point was painful to watch; it would be so much better as one 10-minute period. 5 minutes doesn't allow for teams to build any pressure at all to be able to get decent quality shots away.

Gower shanking that last goal kick made up for the result.

I'm as disappointed in Maranta as anyone else, but that Leilua try was not his fault.

Huge wraps must go to Parker, McCullough and McGuire, racking up a huge amount of tackles.

Pretty poor and run-of-the-mill to bag McCullough. He had the forwards running well, he gave the halves good service, particularly Hunt and picked the right time to steal metres from dummy half. Had a good game.

would be an upgrade on the current broncos' fitness coach - Izzy Mandelbaum ...

Yeah we probably should have but you have to ask the question though, not that long ago we wouldn't have been in those sorts of opportunities to score, particularly from where they were and how they were created, as disappointing as we didn't convert them into points its positive signs at least that the potential is there.

Absolutely. It's a shame Hunt didn't get the halves job over Norman last season, just think what he'd be like now.
