whitchurch isnt even in the starting side for redcliffe.

it'll be gillet or stagg. which im fine with. better option than a rookie from q cup. hopefully only a week

I'm actually more concerned about the warriors than the knights. It's unlikely knights will win too many games if they lose one and we beat them twice we're in ahead of them. The problem is we need two wins more than the warriors. That could be hard to pull off.

1: Hoffman
2: Maranta
3: Oates
4: Hodges
5: Kemp
6: Prince
7: Hunt
8: Hannant
9: McCullogh
10: Mcguire
11: Gillett
12: Thiaday
13: Parker

14: Granville
15: Tasi
16: Dodds
17: Wallace

Against Bennett coached teams we have played 9 games and won 7 of them with the last loss coming in 2010 when we were savaged by injuries.

Kemp is still injured so count him out.

Stagg literally just played the full 80 2 weeks ago against Cronulla just before the bye.
Anyway, I agree with Peter, a hooker off the bench is always good. Fresh legs out of dummy half is a severely underrated tactic. And hookers are probably the hardest working players in the comp.

If stagg plays 80 the second row might cope with Gillett in centres the question is who then gives thaiday a breather? Unless moose plays 80 and does some second row time. The other option is to possibly put Gubb in at wing, he seems to have some try scoring instinct but his defence is obviously untested at this level. If we can get a decent looking forward pack with Gillett in the centres I say go for it if not give gubb a début.

What's the story with this Byrnes kid a few posters have mentioned? Is he any chance of getting a run?

Any chance of Berryman or Dazel-Don for a wing spot? I don't watch Q-cup so no idea how they are going, but I'd rather have Oates in the centres and bring in a winger than have Gillett or Stagg in the centres and Oates on wing. Probably a long shot anyway, especially since Berryman is leaving anyway.

I hope we pick a QLD cup winger instead of moving a backrower into centres. Jarrad McInally has been going well for the Jets.

Dazel-Don

About as much chance as seeing Josh McGuire out there. Dalziel is a forward through and through. I doubt Berryman will receive a go after he signed with Manly either.

ning - Byrnes is a good prospect but I doubt his versatility especially at this level. Looks like a natural at fullback but a little lost at sea anywhere else.

Ha ha I had no idea lol something in my mind thought he was a winger. My bad, just shows my lack of Q-cup knowledge lol

i just dont see them putting a rookie on the wing beside oates who's only had a couple of games himself. no disrespect to oates he's been fantastic but its risky at this stage of the season. i expect stagg to be named at centre.

Risky at this stage of the season? I think its at the stage where the club has accepted at least somewhat it needs to pull a rabbit out of its hat rather then playing it safe to be any chance of making the finals or at least putting respect back into their finish, if they wanted to play safe Norman wouldn't have been dropped, Wallace still playing in the halves etc

completely different scenarios though. norman has left the club. wallace isnt wanted and his time is up.

gagai and uate arent two guys you want a 3 game 18 year old + an nrl debutant defending against.

imo with hodges "roaming" in attack he can play the fb role with hoffy slotting in as a ball runner down the left.

Not really different scenarios particularly with the Broncos we have been dealing with in recent times(the mindset of playing it safe is a long stronger then it ever has been), not the Broncos of old, Norman may be gone but the club still could easily continued with him and Wallace over putting Hoffman back at fullback and Hunt into the halves on a fulltime basis something which the club has been very reluctant to do. as for Hoffman and Hodges switching roles, it works for Hodges but I reckon it dents Hoffman's effectiveness from an attacking perspective to be playing inside a winger who IMO shows his best effectiveness attacking wise out on the wing. I think in a sense your right that they might go with say Stagg or Gillett first but I still wouldn't be surprised to see Oates there. Eitherway it will be interesting to see.
