Wouldnt be surprised to see Whitchurch get the gig after his very good performance yesterday for Redcliffe. Second half they finally put him in the centres and it was no coincidence that when they did that the Dolphins came back from 30-18 down to win. Made 3 line breaks second half and showed the form we saw from him last season. Having said that he did bomb an easy try, but also having said that he won man of the match.

Hope you're right, Jeb!

Obviously I haven't seen anything of Whitchurch outside of the NRL, but last year he really impressed me in a few of his performances. Didn't really have a good time of it when he was in first grade earlier in the year, but I'd love to see him get another shot. He's got something about him IMO.

He's also already played so it's not as much of a risk playing him than blooding someone new.

I tend to agree we need a safe player, Gagai/Uate are very strong attacking pair so we need someone who can defend well.

Well we may have some good news, channel 9 reckons Reed is a chance.

Stagg literally just played the full 80 2 weeks ago against Cronulla just before the bye.
Anyway, I agree with Peter, a hooker off the bench is always good. Fresh legs out of dummy half is a severely underrated tactic. And hookers are probably the hardest working players in the comp.

Then that makes Farah and Smith extraordinary, which IMO, they are.

If we are talking best available defence, then will Granville or Baptiste cut it?

They are hookers, they defend in the middle. If Gillett or Thaiday can cut it, I don't see why they can't.
Besides, we are never going to get the best of McCullough or possibly finding a superior player if we just let him cruise thinking his position is secure.

Stagg is definitely fit enough to play the full 80, he's very much a Parker type player but obviously Parker is elite while Stagg is good. I was very impressed with Stagg in the Cronulla game, he's the type of player who shines playing long minutes whereas I don't see him as much value playing 20 minute impact roles, with Glenn gone Stagg should see much more minutes in the backrow if he doesn't get moved to centre. Stagg is a good buy, cheap and a top quality player to have in the squad to cover injuries and he's been handy to have. I actually hope he sticks around for next year too, even if he doesn't get a first grade spot at full strength he's a super handy player to have around the origin period and to cover injuries.

Isn't surprising I spoke to him on Friday and I asked him about his injury and he said he was feeling very good and that he was confident about returning to the field. If it helps he also said the spirit and mood within the team is good and that they are still confident about the rest of the season.

Reed has a good track record of recovering early from injuries doesn't he? I'd love to see Reed back, he's not the most talented player in the world but he plays at a 110% every game and is super solid in defence while also good at setting up his outside winger. I really hope he's back next week, the team is better when he's in it.

If we have both Hannant and Reed back then I like our chances of winning this game too.

Hi fellow bronco fans. First time posting so hope I do it properly. The way I see it our chances on friday night would improve if
we had no Wallace. Hunt seemed to go into his shell as soon as Wallace ran on.

yeah i miss jack as unco as he is some times. gives it is all every time he gets on the field.

Yes, Granville and Baptiste are hookers. Yes, they defend in the middle. In the middle of Qld Cup. Vive la differance.

As for position security, if only the strict rules of selection on form were applied...

Welcome :)

I agree, Hunt certainly played a lot more passive when Wallace was on the field last match, I'd certainly rather Baptiste or Granville instead in the #14.

No they don't Granville defends at fullback all the time. To retrieve kicks.

Glenn looking unlikely again this year.

Can we just once, I mean just this time pretty please make Macca play 80mins and go into the game with four forwards on the bench!!!

Maybe if it's Wallace or Hunt on the bench. But with a real hooker, I hope not.
