sorry mate but this is a crock of shit. TPJ does the same thing to everyone, the guy is always looking to be aggressive on both sides of the ball. That incident on Maloney was an accident. The guy sat up as TPJ looked to finish his tackle if he doesn't finish Maloney gets up and keeps going. These things happen all the time and there was no intent to land on his neck.
Yeah, I'm a bit perplexed by that one. It's a contact sport and if your not tackled and the player doesn't make contact with the head, how can it be right to penalise it? He landed on the player and the player was free to protect himself. Forceful contact with a player on the ground happens literally every game in most sets of 6. Usually the player is held which is worse but in that instance, he wasn't. Sure, he treated him like a rag doll, but you got to be able to make contact to tackle him. Surely if you do it forcefully would be a matter of conjecture in most cases.
Now if we expect a player to not attack an untackled player, then likewise the onus must be on the player to get to both feet before passing. And why is a large player penalised for it but a smaller fullback, half or centre can slide in and hit a larger player whilst scoring? surely that too is forceful contact. This rule seems broken to me, despite its noble intention. It is too open to interpretation.

How can Burgess and NOS get off almost Scot free for obviously more pre-meditated and dangerous tackles and TPJ gets a grade 2 dangerous contact charge for what looked to me to be a tackle designed to lock the ball up?

Broncos should fight this and expose the MRC as amateur, shandy drinking soft-*****.

Turpin 2-3 weeks also. Did no harm to Edwards, yet fuckwits like Burgess knock blokes out cold over and over again and get nothing.
**** this shit... broncos just need to take the plunge and go challenge these at a hearing... Get that fucker that defended slater and burgess and get this shit thrown out. If Burgess putting moylan out for 2 games with his record can get reduced to a fine, surely Turpin can do the same.. TPJS was just a shit call full stop... surely some smart fucker can figure out something to weasel out of the pathetic charge laid for this.

Well, Turps is a total dickhead for attacking the head of a player with a stiff arm. WTF do you think the refs are going to do, whether or not it hurts the attacker? Fuckwit , putting ego ahead of the team, and the same applies to TPJ. You just don't go near the head of an opposing player when they are on the ground. Utter stupidity which penalises the team.

In Klein's words he was sin binned for "forceful contact to a player lying prone on the ground". So if he was sin binned for this charge how can he now be charged for "dangerous contact to the head and neck" two different charges. Either Klein got it wrong and he should never have been sent off or the MRC is making a charge up without actually consulting the referee's report.

It can't be both.

It's looking like 4-5 weeks for TPJ as well, not 3-4. So if he pleads guilty it'll be 4, if he fights and loses it'll be 5.

You're right, but why is that tackle 3 weeks worse than one which causes a bloke to miss 2 games? Or driving someone head first into the ground?

So it's apparently not "dangerous" contact to the head and neck when the storm are coached to do it in the ruck with wrestling moves and have arguably ended a player's career in the past by doing so, but accidental contact is worth 5+ weeks? There was no intent from TPJ and Maloney randomly got into that position after TPJ had committed to the tackle. What's TPJ meant to do, let him get up and get the ball out wide? I swear the NRL have gone way too far with punishing players who dare to hurt halves who fit into their protected category (for example: Maloney, Cronk, Pearce, Keary, Munster).

EDIT: if intent isn't an element then there should be a player charged any time high contact is made.

Yep , both stupid acts. But people are right to be filthy, it's just so inconsistent and usually we never get the rub of the green.
I'd say fight TPJ 's and hopefully a down grade , but turpin was just stupid to swing his arm in that situation.

TPJ - Careless, lazily falling on a player who incidentally sits upright on the ground for no real reason - 5 weeks

NAS - Systematic wrestling technique, putting immense pressure on the neck, specifically designed to injure the player, or at the very least hinder their ability to play the ball quickly - No charge

Milf 7, Isaako 1, perese 5?

I have always been able to "see".

Milf is a better half than he ever was as a fullback. I still think Milf at no.7 is where we should be aiming for. Bird at no.6 (maybe)........we need a new fullback.

Valentine Holmes NFL experiment seems to be headed towards a predictable failure.......he'll be coming back home soon. As a QLD'r perhaps Brisbane is the right attraction for him?

His return will also be a failure as the guy genuinely believes his own hype. Another Hayne.

1 rule for the Broncos and 1 for everyone else at the MRC. What a surprise.

Look at how many times Burgess etc have absolutely drilled lying prone players on the ground with force and nothing happens.

Hell look at what Jake T did the other week for no suspension and what NAS did last weekend. Then you have Burgess also getting off every charge thrown his way.

Its a fucking rort.

That’s fucking ridiculous
The club need to fight that on principle
He had to jump on him or he is more than to get back up and keep running as he wasn’t held
