Why can't McCullough play 80 minutes? I'd much rather Hala on the bench than Hunt.

I think he can and probably should - he was doing in consistently in '09. We miss him terribly when he goes off, Hunt is fine in attack but nowhere near adequate in defence. IMO it's not a rotation we can carry into the finals unless Baptise pushes his way into the squad or Hunt is hidden out a little wider with one of the edge backrowers is pushed in.

Why isn't he playing the 80? His defensive workload has improved drastically over the last few years, whilst Hook's teams always carry a bench hooker.

As much as I disagree with having 2 hookers in the side, at least Hook leaves Macca on the field if he is going well instead of automatically taking him off after 20 minutes like Henjak did, no matter how well he is going. (see last year's game in Newcastle as example).

Henjak hater! :tsk:

Oh wait...

From a Warriors fan point of view :

Man for man, on recent form the Warriors have the better forwards, Broncos have the better backs.

Big names will mean nothing tonight in the battle of the packs, as you guys have all ready said, we aim up for these games in a total show of respect. The Recipe to defeat the Warriors is straight forward, slow down the speed of the play the ball, run the make shift centers around forcing Manu to come in off his wing....big holes appear in all of the last four wins when lesser teams have achieved this.

Bill Tupou is an earnest kid, playing ten times better than last year but no where near good enough. All the talk of Bombing Manu is missing the point, im sure after reviewing the tape Griffin will send kicks to Tupou who has shown time and again he can't compete in the air or off the turf.

Ivan would be relieved if you target Vatuvei, im confident the talk is a ruse, where forcing Manu to turn has paid dividends in the past its no longer as vital to wear the beast out, pressure our make shift center and he doesn't get quality ball, Kick to Tupou and the tries and possession from his mistakes will out number any thing Manu can counter with.

You have a top forward pack as well, and if they click containing the Warriors isn't that hard, the off load threat by Mateo is un stoppable but closing down his support runners isn't.
Mateo's main threat is in fact his meters, top for the Warriors, again off the speed of the play the Ball that Packer, Rapira Matulino and Lillyman are producing.

Maloney, Johnson and Locke run straight up the middle of the ruck and are too quick for any lazy or flat footed defenders.

We're rolling on the back of some seriously talented young guns in the backs, but here Brisbane have the edge, your young guns are just as good with a lot more experience than Johnson

Locky mania and all that could mean your young Guns go berserk and ours wilt, I hope not, but Either way it will be a valuable learning curve for our new look spine...Maloney is a different player next to Johnson, Locke is a different talent at full back, Pita Godinet will turn heads in the NRL off the bench this is only his third game, watch this kid go.

If Brisbane Fire at full potential they will be unstoppable by any one in the Comp. The Warriors with another season under the Belts of our new talents could match you next year, im not coping out or saying we will lose tomorrow, i'm quietly confident but realistically circumspect.

But the team you play tomorrow is the Blue print for the Warriors future...minus our centers.

Tigers and Bulldogs did us a favor, really need to capitalise on it.

Definitely, if we win this game and beat the Cowboys next week then we will have a top 4 spot signed, sealed, and delivered :)

Pretty good first post by mt smart, welcome mate

Yeah they did us a favor as well mate.
What a prize tonight's game offers both Clubs, the heat is on. We're playing for a home semi chance now.
Wow. As if the 'unofficial Match of the round' needed any more hype.

The ladder may be less distracting for the Warriors purely due to the fact that of all the teams in the NRL.....playing the Broncos keeps you grounded and focused on trying to win the game in front of you.

In my opinion the talk about looking to be tested by quality opposition pales in comparison to the chance at a Broncos Scalp, beating Brisbane is all ways the highlight of any Warriors season....doesn't matter where we or the Broncs sit on the table at the time.

No excuses tonight, if the Warriors go down it won't be through lack of motivation. Can't wait.

Cheers Browny , its a great game Rugby league, and to be honest playing against Lokyer tonight at home will be the kind of experience our newbies remember for the rest of their careers. Got me beers stocked up and a few mates and family coming around for a winter BBQ , kicks off at 930 NZ time
As bitter pill a loss is to swallow, no true Warriors league fan would begrudge a champion like Lokyer going out in style ( well thats what i've been preparing for lol)

Warriors are pretty confident, Joel Moon on twitter is suggesting Berrigan is going to bring Suncorp to its knees... Warriors by 12....

Good to have you on board Mt. Smart.

I'm fairly confident about tonight, I feel despite the Warriors getting off to a good start we're just too good a side and we'll run away with it. If the game was played in NZ, my opinion would definitely be different but at home I'm much more comfortable about our chances.

Brisbane 28-16.

I like the Mt Smart guy, Intelligent poster, keep posting on these boards you seem like very good value :)

PUMPED for this game, can't wait for 7.30 kick off :D
