Round 22 - Raiders vs Broncos - Post Match Discussion

We don't really know what Hook and the boys are doing at training unless you are going to watch training. It is pretty harsh to say they aren't doing anything about it. The club just can't get out of these ruts even though they continually get stuck in them. Surely they need to review this shit. I am over this slump that rapes our season every year. It really isn't good enough for a professional football team.

I thought last year was rather good. I wonder why?

Small things amuse small minds I guess...

While he'd be far more valuable to us in the backs, he's far more comfortable in the middle and the coaching staff seems to share that opinion as well.

This is true. Maybe it was because we had a smaller Origin representation? Our record this time of year over the last 10 years has been dreadful though.

Jokes, some people can take them and some people are them.

There's a difference between telling a joke and flogging a dead horse.

This is probably in between a punchline and an equine carcass, but does anyone know, if in fact there is a clear cut answer: which side did Lockyer play most - left or right?

(I plead old age ....)

Am I thinking what you're thinking rnabokov?

Oh, and by the way, there were 2 posts which I found quite telling.

The first, by a number of us, was that Lockyer made any player (and coach) look good.

The second, that Gillett is having a dreadful 2nd year syndrome.

If you ask me, there are a lot of players having similar problems to Gillett this year.

It seems this year , when it counts, we have a team of largely unguided missiles.

Isn't this Gilletts third year?? Pretty sure it is.

I think you're right. His first 2 were with Lockyer where he, and a lot of others, got quality ball in good position.

This year, he looks lost, and it is really starting to show.

He has improved of late. He is working hard and running hard. He really is a cherry on top type of player. With our side playing so shit he hasnt got much hope.,

His defence is the most worrying aspect for me.

It's as you say with his attack....he's not getting good ball.

But I think I've seen him shrugged off in a tackle (after having the player wrapped up) on more than a couple of occasions this year, just like he was for the Raiders try on the week-end

I'm sure it's cost us points before as well.....
