Round 23 - Broncos vs Rabbitohs Pre-Match Discussion

Broken clock is right at least twice in a day.

Surely the same applies to us optimists and a crunch game?

Note to our kickers: keeping kicking to Inglis on the full and we will lose.

We need to kick like last Friday. Kick to th corners and find space. Also early kicking would be an option if not in an attack position, since GI and the wingers will not have fallen back to take the kick. And if they do fall back on the 4th, well that presents us with other opportunities

id say reed will be on the wing, like two weeks ago. ive been a big fan of maranta this year but unfortunately he misses out. reed has been reasonably good lately anyway.

biggest threats are inside balls to inglis and walker and a'va imo.

gotta play a big bench again. kennedy was actually good verse dogs and deserves another go.

Considering how he's been performing in recent weeks, I just cannot see Copley being taken out of the centres. Dare I say, surely Griffin can't be that stupid.

To be fair to Griffin when Hodges last played Copley was named at left centre.

if lowrie or stagg are selected ahead of Kennedy, I will flip

We never do well when we are confident.. And we never do well when people on here say we have a chance. Stop it guys!
Point taken, but I would describe the prevailing sentiment as less pessimistic then usual rather then confident.

You guys need to stop the reed hating. He'll be left Centre guaranteed. He's a farberetand more experienced defender to Copley. Against this backline we will need him.
You'll soon see him play back into form now he has an actual 5/8th creating chances for him. I don't blame reed at all for his lack of form this year... Again, I blame hoffman being in the wrong place, strangling our left side attack

I've always thought Reed was a farberetand!
Oh wait .is that German? "something in colour'?

I'm actually backing Hodges to not play, thereby leaving the same side as last week to take the field this thursday.

Don't get me wrong, Hodges is a god , but sometimes I think we go better without him. He 's been relied on for so long that there is the sense that he feels he has to do it all himself. Also doesn't mean I don't want him in the side, but he could be just a cog instead of the whole wheel.

What is the point of being a fan if you don't believe your team can triumph in any situation? Admittedly, I have become a pessimistic supporter these last couple seasons and have absolutely no faith in the current bumbling and dimwitted hierarchy and I think a playoff berth is still unlikely. But, at the same time, I would never tip against them and as we have seen many times in this great game, the improbable CAN happen. A fan always has faith and a bucketful of hope, that is the very definition of a Brisbane Broncos supporter.

^ i dont think he was being all that serious.

it has seemed to come true that each time a large majority of us a resigned to losing an upcoming game, the team comes out and gets a win

there is nothing wrong with being realistic about your teams chances in a game but still supporting your team and hoping for the best.

Wasn't that only because Reed was naughty and had to stand in the corner?

In any case, I could live with Reed at left centre (grudgingly) only if Copley plays outside Hodges. They work well together, and last week, Barba and Reed combined well.

Keary and Reynolds will also bomb the crap out of our wingers which means having Copley on the right wing is not such a bad move.

Copley is not that great under the high balls, if you hadn't noticed already.

nah. rnd 21 against manly, hodges and copley centres, reed and vidot wings. hodges got injured during the game which meant reed switched into the centres and oates played on the wing for the remainder.

rnd 20 reed came off the bench against melbourne, as griffin stuck with the same backline that beat the warriors, the match that reed and co missed due to naughty corner.
