Round 23 - Broncos vs Rabbitohs Pre-Match Discussion

**** me dead if reed is on the bench. I'd rather keep him in the centers than have him taking a bench spot. hook needs to be able to make the big calls on who gets cut. but we all know he doesn't have the balls

Reed won't be on the bench, it will either be wing or center

Good balanced side (again)

let's hope they turn up with the same mindset they had against the Bulldogs.

This game is one we should win.

Ah, the secret ingredient has returned!

If the players all look like you, well, your avatar, when they run the ball and defend, we'll walk it in

Copley is poor under the high ball, but he also can't defend in the centres...and would be up against one of the most talented and in form attackers in Dylan Walker.

You'd almost want Hodges to sit one more game out, lol.

I didn't see the Rabbitohs game last week and was wondering how well they played.

How well did they play? beating Manly by that margin is impressive but I still think Manly are the team to beat for the premiership

Has Matthew Johns ever been right?? As far as I know he has been the main instigator in the terrible rumours.

arguably the most overrated RL analyst of all time imo ...just has a knack of making what comes out of his mouth sound like the most important thing you've heard all week...

The fact that Copley kept Reed's 3 jersey last week and this week makes me think Reed will be the one to switch to the wing if Hodges comes back in.

Copley's defence far out-weighs his ability under the high ball.

At least with the former, he's inconsistent and it's something he's shown signs of improving. With the latter he's just flat out terrible and it makes no sense to develop that skill for him (unless we're more concerned for Mal than we are about the Broncos).

But yeah I absolutely agree with you on the Hodges point. Unfortunately the club views him as a senior player and if he's willing to put his hand up, he'll play and Copley will be the one to shift to the wing I'd imagine with Hodges playing that quasi fullback/centre role he plays.

The thing is, first 20 mins of the Bulldogs game we looked like we looked like we didnt know how we are going to score points, or win the game. The Bulldogs game, again, was won on the back of some moments of Hunt individual brilliance (1-1 strip included).

We do the arm wrestle stuff but without any sort of gameplan or structure.

That's where we need to improve.

We've got to run with Souths and their power play for the first 20 and be less than 12 points down. When possession turns, there are weaknesses in their defensive line and our mobile pack should play to that around the edges. Granville should come on at 30 minute mark and just run them ragged.

What happened to that guy that used to come in and say just that?

I haven't seen him in a long time..

I thought Broncos did alright in attack at the start of the Bulldogs game, it was just desperate defense that stopped them scoring early. I counted at least 3 try savers before Broncos scored.

A couple of dropped balls as well, McGuire and Glenn over the tryline

NO GAME PLAN?? Seriously??

We had an extremely well executed game plan against the dogs. We just started the game off NOT kicking the ball out on the full and giving away penalties.

You seriously have no idea...

given that:
rnd 21 manly beat broncos
rnd 22 souths beat manly

it only makes sense that in the wacky world of rugby league:
rnd 23, broncos beat souths.

ningnangnong The game is tonight ya wally. Not Friday. And because it's on Thursday that means it is the 7:30 game, not the delayed 9:30 game, which obviously doesn't exist for Thursday. So yeah, 7:30pm Thursday.
