POST GAME [Round 24, 2021] Sharks vs Broncos

Even though it will likely go down as one of the worst debuts in club history, Piakura showed some good signs in defence. I noticed the Cronulla players didn't enjoy running into him which bodes well for the future.

That's one difference moving forward. When the media was going crazy about the Broncos gun pack a couple of years ago I really struggled to name anyone you'd be scared to run at. With Piakura and Hetherington that's beginning to go the other way.

Sadly I don't think Flegler has a future in this version of the game.

Really missed Gamble tonight to add some polish to our end of sets.

Can you imagine Reynolds repeat sets and Flegler short kicking game next year?

Also getting staggs back, Capewell steadying the defence and taking tough hitups.

We got absolutely destroyed in the field position game. How many sets did we start coming out of our own 10m zone? The Sharks basically didn't start more than a couple of sets deeper than their 30m line.

It's actually a pretty decent achievement that we made a game of it in the end with no territory and 60 minutes played with 12 men.

sci-fi signs GIF
So the money goes to buying new players? When did they scrap the salary cap, I didn't hear about it! Awesome!

Also, vlandys did say a new Brisbane team would be worth, and I quote "$22 million" for the NRL... I'm sure they'll just let the games play out naturally and no preference towards results. Hey, I've got a bridge to sell you, want to buy it?

Payne Haas, what a player.

19 runs, 250m
25 tackles 0 missed
10 tackle breaks, next closest, 5.
112 PCM, more than any other forward on our team made in total metres
0 errors

Such a freak of a player, hoping on hope he signs that extension. He's a once in a generation forward.
Ok.... So.... Haas in just post contact metres made more than any other player on our team... So technically he did the job of at least two players tonight... So if we paid even one of those two players 500k that would be a bargain!

Therefore by pure logic, he's worth more than a million a season ... Right??

Ten tackle breaks? Nrl has him down for 4 tbs. Still a fabulous game.

wtf was turpin put on report for? couldnt see any contact with the back of the neck

Withdraw Paynes new contract and give him more money give him whatever he wants to stay, we see the difference every week when he goes off he really needs a tag team partner off the bench hoping Willison can provide that in the future.

How good is Selwyn Cobbo going to be in the future.. would love to see how fast he was going when he got to Nuis kick he literally came from nowhere.

Even though we lost seen some really promising signs. this team is a finals team next year with the new signings and sorting a fullback out in the off season.

Certainly an improvement on the 109 m total he had against the Roosters a fortnight ago. He's put in again last week and this week.

After this game, combined with the last 6 weeks i have absolutely zero doubt left in my mind that Siebold was the root of this teams problems.

Kevvie has rid the side of his stench and even when the chips are down and we have every reason to drop out bundle and and let the opposition walk all over us, we continue to fight.

Well done Kev.

He really does do the work of two decent props, he's that good. I don't think he's worth over a million buy 900k he is absolutely worth

Fkn Fleggler. I feel he is never going to learn.
Cobbo looks like he will be something. Look big fast and strong.
Niu was good with his support plays.
It really is a pity that Milford looks to finally playing some type of form. Had he shown this earlier on in the year I would have been happy if we offered him 1yr in the 14.
2022 looking good though. Mark that down as another win had we had Reynolds.
I agree about the Reynolds part but just to add it would have taken one or two cool, experienced heads to get that win tonight.
Minus the refs.
