POST GAME [Round 24, 2022] Broncos vs Eels

Wouldn’t be surprised if a fair chunk of the playing group have a problem with the guy getting huge money to be bog average. Let him go, his presence in the squad is cancerous.
I tend to think there's been money based jealousy issues with probably good reasons for some of it. I've always wondered why say , two second rowers doing the same job in the same team can have a wage disparity of staggering proportions.

One guy on 650, the other at 250 and yes, **** it I get it, one does this so very well, one does that so very well that they're notionally valued at a much better rate but **** me dead, this extra ability means they're worth double, triple?

Nope, no fucking way I'd run a team with mega money for a select few. No more certain path to disharmony and almost certain failure than financial discontent.

We are watching a football team that just doesn't know how to play NRL at the moment. They are struggling with patience and composure, everything is rushed and they cant find a way to put in action a strategy to get them up field.

Stupid penalties like strips, forced passes, clinging on in tackles too long. They are all symptoms of a team trying too hard knowing they are behind in the game. Leadership has gone missing out there, so no cool heads prevail.

Players like Staggs and Haas need to pull their finger out and play for their potential. Both big name players who game on game aren't delivering the goods. Right now Jensen is out playing Haas and Staggs looks like a bog average centre. Haas has to go - hes not standing up and not being a leader to show the other forwards.

I blame 60% on injuries - there has been a lot of critical ones, but also 40% on coaching. I have concerns the chopping and changing and blindly supporting some selections has dented team morale.

Kev - the current situation worry's me. Whilst i can accept losses where the team is up for the game - they haven't had a pulse since the last Eels game. The second half of this game was probably the most resilient in a while - but it was forced by no interchange left. That's a big problem.

Lot of talk about our shit defence, but our attack is equally rudderless. I don't think any of us are ready to pile on Reynolds yet, but under the cold spotlight, his season hasn't been a success. He only gets a pass mark because he's been injured/absent nearly every game. If that continues into next year, he'll start looking like the next Jack Bird.

The rib injury fucked him. He isn't taking on the line and is letting Mam and others take a lot more control, which maybe is good for Mam's development longterm, but still leaves us in a Dearden-esque situation wherein we're asking a teen to lead a side, which isn't good for anyone in the short term.

If he was injury free (niggles aside) and was like this, it would be cause for concern.

It's already cause for concern, in that I'm not sure he's ever going to be injury free, but I think we would all prefer to be optimistic about him. The alternative to being optimistic is pretty fucking dire.

According to Gamble, he's coaching the attack. That in itself is a massive alarm bell, but also our attack - other than kick to Corey or Selwyn - has been up shit creek.

Last night, with no Selwyn and precious at halfback we didn't even have the kick to winger in play.

There's a chance Roosters or Souths gets knocked out of the top 8. They both have 2 tough matches coming up. Storm Vs Roosters, Cowboys Vs Souths this week then Roosters and Souths have to face each other next week.
So assuming Tigers wins their next 2 matches against Manly and Tigers, Broncos wins against Dragons, Roosters and Souths lose this week then it's likely going happen.
I'm hoping we end up playing Souths 1st round coz we have good form against them with Reynolds inside information.
Did you miss the part where we let in 1000 points the last two weeks.

We aren't winning another game this season.

Really Adam?? Like, thanks for pointing that out captain obvious. I don't Kevvie or any of us had noticed that.
Well he did say something about throwing the melbourne game in the bin and to forget about it.

What was the result? another humiliation.

I think that's our attack because he doesn't want to take on the line, because of his rib injury.

Maybe. But if that's the case he shouldn't be playing. His demeanour has gone downhill remarkably in the last few weeks.

Don't disagree there but then you've got Walters and Mam in the halves, and we got a glimpse last night of what happens there. Agree it should be Gamble but he's on the outer for whatever reason.

If we ever see Walters in the halves again, I'm switching the TV off. Saving myself the pain.

I actually switched off with 10 to go last night which I can probably count on one hand the amount of times i've done that ever. I got some ice cream and brownie and watched a bit of SVU instead, look at what they've done to me.

Did you think they were going to turn it around in the second half? 😜

normally i'm a glutton for punishment but i just ended up being a glutton with dessert.

the brownie was pretty good though so that was a positive.
You shouldn’t eat your feelings, particularly as a broncos fan…

Agree, and it's why the spine still has to be the #1 priority. No point bringing in defensive specialists when the team is on the back foot, finishing sets poorly and playing with well under 50% possession, it'll be a similar result.

I'm pretty sure we'd have heard if something had occured behind the scenes, but I also can't help but think Reynolds seems reallyy down in his interviews recently.

Coach needs to be #1 priority.
