POST GAME Round 24 - Broncos vs Bulldogs

This was the kind of win we needed a few weeks back. I think we'll build from here but it's just a little late to hit top gear at the right time.

Mind you, it's easy to think of our form as mutable and others as a constant. As we've seen the last few weeks, some of the front runners are looking a little shaky. If that trend continues, we may be in with a chance...

I don't think it is too late, we're even a chance of a top four finish. Dogs have Cowboys next week, so if we keep wining we will jump ahead of one of them, at least...

It's in our hands more or less. We win both games, we will likely finish fourth and then we have as good a chance as any other side to go all the way, particularly as we'll probably play Melbourne again...

Just some quotes from The Kennel...

Bout time someone kick that **** in the face..its a shame it wasn't thaiday that fat ****

Corey Parker showing exactly how much of a fucking ****** he is. He is retiring this year isn't he? Thank **** I won't have to see his shit grey noggin again

Corey Parker thinks he is owed something by the game.. You may think you are a demigod but you still have breakable teeth you wanker.

It was a stupid kick but **** your teeth prick that's my Buuldogs pride.

I really loved the attitude tonight. Totally different team to the one that was running out a month or so ago. Got a bit messy at the end, and they need to sort that out against teams like the Storm and the Cows who won't sit down, But I really loved the way they stood up after Parker got kicked.

It seems pretty clear that Hunt plays better when Milford plays well, too. I don't know where Milford went, but I'm glad he's back. Suddenly looks far more confident, and a lot more interested. Didn't break the game open like last week, but looks dangerous and worries the opposition just about every time he touches the ball. Hunt's kicking game has improved as well - he's still prone to the odd bad kick, but overall his kick choice and placement is a lot better. Milf and McCullough chipping in now and then helps too, as does a better chase, though I wish they'd contest bombs more often. Gillett's penalty early was just terrible - you're there, get eyes on the ball and make an effort. Oates' attempt late was more promising, even though he got clocked. Don't know why that was a penalty, given he was always contesting the ball, not tackling the man...

Next week still worries me. It's going to say everything about where we are and our finals chances.

My favourite part of the game was the last 5 minutes ... the team just said, "kick our captain in the face will ya ... well take this" then tried to break in half, anything wearing blue and white.

and there wasn't any of this wrestling shit ... it was just good old fashioned hit and stick. not to mention the 3 people in every tackle. :hail:

Didn't Thaiday get kicked in the face by Reynolds in the 2014 game?

Kasiano and Rona will get suspended, so it's conceivable the Dogs are a good chance of losing again. Pray to the footy gods that the Cows continue their slump because both them and the Dogs continuing to lose is our only ticket to the top 4.

If we can beat Melbourne at AAMI next week, I think we can make it.

He was just thinking out loud....

Was the penalty on Oates or the second guy(pangai??) coming in when the tackle was completed?

on a personal note ,,, where the **** was this from Thaiday ... if he had have done this for most of the season, i may have contested my first SVRL finals series, given i lost quite a few close matches.

but no. he has to wait until i get the wooden spoon before turning it on

Greenburg to fine Parker for not doing the post match press conference.

Just when you thought the refs couldn't get any worse.......

Dead set, we are getting punished by those fuckers, with and without the ball, the last few weeks. So frustrating to watch.

Anyway, great to see the "team" back. Starting to look good in defence. Hitting and sticking, and getting plenty of numbers in each tackle. Also, line speed has improved alot. Great work fellas.

Attack still looks a bit clunky though. I like the look of Blair in attack the last few weeks. He is building nicely. Just need to get Milf following him everywhere.

Maybe, though from memory didn't Pangai come in first and alone, given Oates never actually affected a tackle? I don't know, seemed suspect to me.

what fantasy world are you living in ... and can i visit, the NRL there must be more competent than the one in the real world
