broncos.com.au reporting he is good to go and likely start at expense of gillet or teo (surely thats an easy decision based on form).

teo is the man we need hitting the line hard early in the game

Would much prefer Gibb kept his bench spot at the cost of Lui.

Although I might be contradicting myself, I now think Wallace should step aside.

I believe he has all the heart and passion and defensive ability to fill Hunt's role from the bench (and would probably do it more effectively than Hunt, truth be told).

His head is so messed up at the moment. The coach needs to give him a simple role (come from the bench, tackle for 15 minutes either side of the half to give Macca a break, and direct the play from dummy half). He would play this role so friggin well and might get some confidence back. Give Hunt a crack, he's got the kicking and passing game and is a much better natural 7 than Wallace.

Drop Capewell, reward Maranta's consistency and effort and run with this:

1. Hoffman
5. Maranta
6. Norman
7. Hunt
14. Wallace.

Wallace is playing shit (last game was ok...) but I just don't believe Norman should be in the halves. Hunt is far from proven as well. Given our pool, I really think Wallace/Hunt combo is the only viable option.

IMO Wallace should either be rested completely or should be the halfback. Benching him doesn't achieve anything I feel.

Glad that Parker is back but I really hope his body is up to it.

This is a game we can win but it should be remembered that for Melbourne's Big 3, Lang Park is almost a home ground.

Haven't noticed much mentioned about Josh McGuire's injury but the Broncos email update I just got suggests he's out for 5-6 weeks with an eye injury! Holy shit! :(

Oh dear, this simply will not do.

Yeah he got another poke in the eye and his eye filled with blood. Didn't expect him to be out for that long though.

YES! :thumbup1:

Besides the welcome news to the Broncos, my reaction may or may not have to do with fantasy footy comps... :cuckoo:

Yeah, saw that too. Hope it's just a typo, as the latest news yesterday pointed to 1 week only...

Hannant and Civo need to go up another gear and absolutely give it to them.

FoxSports were saying he might only be out for the 1 week ??

I hope they're right.

Yeah Norman cannot be in the halves, I'm happy for Wal to play second fiddle to Hunt but Norman should never be reinstated.

Yes .....you are contradicting your earlier views

"Way to completely undermine any sense of credibility about anything you say from now on."

Some people would say something shitty like that

but I'm not that nasty.

When you watch the try scored by Norman v Dogs, you notice the structure that was moving into place as the play was started by Macca.

Wallace who got the first pass was in perfect position, and in the back ground you can see Gillett and Norman moving into place ready for the move, which comes off so well with Norman scoring.

It was just soooo good, so simple but well constructed, and executed ... well, why why why isn't that sort of stuff kept up?

I keep harping on those first 20 minutes only because they are real class, and everyone we (rightly) criticize for their failings later in the game, and form generally, well, you can still see just what they can really do.

So again, as long as we can do those plays, I will remain very optimistic until I am proved otherwise by the end of Rd 26

I agree to an extent, rnabokov. This close to the finals I don't share your level of optimism, if it was Rd5, then yes. I was kid wrangling for much of the game on Sunday, but I can only put their tailing away down to a few points (and I'm not too sure which is correct);
1. They are tired and worn out
2. Their fitness is not what it needs to be
3. Key players are out of form

Maybe a combination of all of the above?

I certainly agree that there are issues of form, yes, but not fitness or tiredness. For me it's lack of confidence which they're are talking about, and from this week, I expect (optimistically) to start building further with a win on Friday night.
