Round 24 Discussion

Yeah good promising start from Penrith here, but cheap penalties like that don't help.

Sydney just struggling on their right hand side. Aubusson isn't as strong a runner as Crichton and they can't get Manu any good ball.

They've looked stronger around the middle with Tedesco, Liu and Warea-Hargreaves making good in-roads.

Penrith survive, Sydney go for the cross-field bomb the ball comes loose for a Crichton grounding but replays show that Tupou got a piece of the ball.

Penrith with an opportunity to turn the tables and build a healthy lead.

Too easy for Verrills.

Sydney going nowhere, Verrills looks up, sees a big line past Tamou who shot up too quickly and scores right underneath the posts.

Should be 6 all after 16.

Penrith in trouble now

Great line from Crichton there. Radley did well to draw in Cleary and Crichton shot straight through. Support all around the ball and Sydney have turned this game on it's head.

Roosters building confidence here, nearly a 40/20 and defensively have shifted up a gear

Morris with the cold drop, wasn't likely to score, but only early in the set with Sydney looking poised to extend their lead.

Now Radley gives away a dumb penalty for a late hit on Maloney. Penrith with an opportunity to equalise.

Panthers back in trouble working hard to make metre. Roosters looking good till Mitchell dropped it.

Despite sustained pressure, Cleary surrenders the ball over cheaply and Sydney are deep inside the Panthers half. Keary drives it down towards the in-goal as Mitchell swoops on Edwards, forcing Penrith to work it out deep inside their own half.

The Panthers lack of variety is costing them here. It's either going to the left or they're relying too heavily on the kicking game to bail themselves out. It's produced some good results, but it isn't capable of producing miracles.

Whare searching in field can't find anyone so he dumps it back to Fisher-Harris who is a good 5m behind the play. It sums it up Penrith for the moment.

What a pass there from Kikau. S. Crichton with not a lot of room decides to put the kick through and forces another goal line drop out.

Tetevano plays for the penalty and gets rewarded. Lazy from Campbell-Gillard but a bad look all the same.

Penrith denied on the eve of half-time as Sydney take two shots at field goal, only to have both smothered.

Only six points in it, a fairly even contest. Penrith have controlled things better, but Sydney look far more likely with the football.

Tturbo ruptured pec. he's cooked
