Round 24 - Roosters vs Broncos

One of the worst 40mins this year. We haven't even been in their 20m to attempt an attacking play.

Giving up way too many meters and not making any. We need some energy off the bench because we have none from the starting 13 currently.

As the season gets on, and we start playing the better teams, it's becoming more obvious.

We stand flat in our defensive line and let the other team come to us - we know this - the problem is that we're always bringing the ball back off our own try line and are lucky to get it back to the 40m line, and then the opposing team starting their set on their 30m line.

It's killing us.

Thaiday has had a quiet night to be honest. I don't understand why, given Hargreaves is gone.

If we lose to this Roosters team missing him, we don't deserve to be premiers.

geez, we just got dominated without JWH or Pearce on the field. brave defence, but they have to find a way out of their own half

that kick late in the half that failed to find touch was unforgivable. when you are under the pump to that extent, if you are gonna attempt a play like that you just have to make it.

copley is all at sea against ferguson

Copley and Oates are being exposed tonight

With Pearce and JWH gone that leaves their bench short. Hope we can exploit that fatigue.

Hopefully Bennett had the rocket primed

Should swap Copley and Oates. At least Oates can handle Ferguson and won't rush out the line.

Bit tough on Copleys D I think, trying to reign in Ferguson when their forwards make so much ground and get quick play the balls is a pretty hard job.
If we keep letting teams get away with quick play the balls and in return get held down we just can't win big games.

Just before the Guerra no try the Roosters forward used the ball to get up, I thought that was a penalty to us, is that still the rule?

The Broncos have done really well to hold on here.

The Roosters opened the game with plenty of enthusiasm, and once they got their kicking game sorted, they were able to dominate the game fairly easily. Still, possession can swing, and if the Broncos can control the ball, they'll trouble the Roosters in the second half.

If Brisbane are to win, look for a big second stint from Thaiday. It seemed as if he was playing within himself in the first half, if he can recapture the form we saw against the Bulldogs, it may just be the impetus the Broncos are desperately searching for.

These guys at half time are blaming Oates for missing Ferguson. They do realise Oates is the winger right?

If we win this we'll win the comp.

That's the test.

You gotta wonder why they were put together, being relatively inexperienced. I suppose you can't move Hodges, Kahu is also low on centre time and Copley isn't a winger. Should've put Oates on the bench and kept Maranta in at least. Would suck for Offa as the likely one to drop off, but Oates can play forwards easily

JWH is huge.....Roosters play better without Pearce so thats nothing to big!

We are going nowhere if our back rowers and backs stand so flat. Hunt and Milford have nothing to work with, aside from which Milford looks lost.

64-15 in each others half! That's huge

Macca made 46 tackles in the first half.

Im at the game, ref not a factor imo. Roosters have a shit load more energy and a heap more talk amongst them on the field. We did well to escape 8 down, they have been a 3 try better team.

With some field position we can win this, not sure where we get it from
