Oh and one random thing, what is with mariner getting run down late in the game? I thought he had more toe than that.

He may have still been hurting from the half-hip drop they did on him.

Pretty sure it was him that got pulled down awkwardly (but legally)

Fair enough. The other little thing was arthars with the last kick off. How do our players not know basic rules that they only have to put a foot out and touch the ball from restarts?

I could possibly understand a forward not knowing this, but a winger? Seriously?

Canberra were getting pumped early in the year and Ricky basically dated the NRL to fine him under the new rules.
4 straight weeks he bleated in the presser about getting pinged for stuff other teams weren't.
Madge needs to get vocal.
💯%.

The thing intrigues me most is —> it’s not that MM doesn’t know how to be vocal. It will be brutal if he gets vocal BUT the question is, when will he?

At first glance it looked like he ran the wrong angle. He may have broken away if he went towards the left corner poste but he angled inwards towards all the defence for some reason

I don’t remember us ever getting one of those right.

I definitely think we deserve to be playing finals footy this year so I'm happy the lads have got a top 8 spot.

But I just don't know how far they can go. We don't look like a team that has got our shit sorted. Our urgency and attention to detail in certain periods of the game is really lacking. There was a 7 tackle set we got at one stage and everyone just ambled up to the 20 and took a casual tap making about 5 meters. I hate comparing us to the storm but it doesn't matter who the opponent, what the score or game situation, they are always ready to attack and making the 1 % plays. We need to show more urgency.

I have liked our defensive attitude the last 2 weeks. We've been pinning teams in their own half and alot of times holding the ball carrier up and pushing them back. However i thought we fell off alot of tackles out wide tonight and first contact was poor leading to some line breaks.

I thought Walsh seemed to get the ball at first receiver alot more tonight. I know people give him shit for over playing his hand but we are genuinly a better team the more he touches the ball.

The Broncos as a club for mine just seem to cop it, which has to be down to some sort of perception to how it would look for them or our coach to complain. The stats this year are actually crazy, and Cows who are second worst, Toddy has complained in press conference quite a few times.

Ciraldo the other night in his presser said he sends tape to the NRL questioning decisions every week, now he's come from Penriths system and yes he works with Gus but you'd assume that's something he is used to doing at Penrith too.

If its not seen, I just hope we are doing or saying something in the background. It doesn't seem like it though, as its the same each week.

For mine, we either need to work relentlessly on our discipline, wrestle and 'art' of slowing play the balls and appearing onside, OR we need to be asking questions. Copping landslide counts every week and expecting to win tough games vs tough opposition is just crazy.

Not sure this is the thread for it but here goes.
Just watching the Cows V Tigers game and I swear the Cows winger No. 2 is an awful lot like Ezra Mam. Either that or Ezra has faked his injury and secretly gone up and signed for the Cows.
Have another Scotch and Coke !

I think the timeframe has always been 8 weeks... that timeframe puts it at late September and has him pushing for a prelim
I think the key is his training regime.
If he is doing full training (obviously with the exception of contact and maybe some ball work) with all the running, sprints etc. then the club must be hoping he will come back at some stage if our season goes long enough.
Someone should keep an eye out at red hill and see what he is doing.

Looked like he travelled with the group to Newcastle this week, so must've attended the camp.

His arm looked to be in a sling and Parker was saying this morning that he had pins for his arm, so I'm guessing that is why it's at 8 weeks rather than 6.

Would assume he can be running, but good call on keeping an eye out for him running plays with the squad and having a red bib on.

At the time he had 2 tries and 180 odd metres next to his name. He got through a lot of work to be finding serious top end speed late in the game.

Have really liked Mariner's yardage game since coming back into the team... doesnt seem to be getting dominated as much.

Pretty decent increase in workload since he's come back into the team.

Wouldve been some linebreaks in there but good signs that hes been regularly clocking over 100m a game

he got lazy on the play when Best scored though. Staggs saw what was happening and gunned it, but Mariner was just walking back. Still has some issues to work on. I'd have given him a rocket over that. He is faster than Staggs, probably would have stopped the try.
