Round 25 - Broncos vs Dragons - Pre Game Discussion

What r the chances that Kennedy brings his balls again this week (seriously, someone should pack them for him every pregame) or that Vidot not only catches kicks again but passes as well. Next I'll b hoping we not only make the 8 but contend as well.
Getting nervously excited.

You might want to watch Barba's first try on Saturday again.

St George Illawarra Dragons duo Josh Dugan and Benji Marshall have both been cleared of any respective major ankle damage and will remain under observation ahead of the fixture against the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on Friday.

The Dragons pair both had scans on their respective ankle injuries having suffered the ailments during the 34-6 win over the Gold Coast Titans at Jubilee Oval, Kogarah on Sunday.

Dugan and Marshall will both be monitored with a final decision to be made on their availability later in the week.

“Scans obtained have cleared Josh Dugan and Benji Marshall of major ankle damage,” said Dragons Performance Director Andrew Gray.

“Both players will be closely monitored throughout the week and will be given up until kick-off to prove their fitness.”

No surprises. Who was it that was saying we will see lowrie sneak in this week? haha. i would assume we'll stick with the same 17 though

Lowrie is now absolutely surplus to requirements unless we lose at least two of our 5 back-rowers IMO.

Finals footy has already begun for the Broncos.

Fair to say that if we can't beat the Dragons and the Storm then we don't deserve to be in the finals anyway.

If we do beat both... You wouldn't want to play us in Week 1

Both sides coming off big wins. It will be an interesting game. When two attacking sides go at it, it's generally the better defense that wins out. Two more sleeps - looking forward to it.

And I have no problem with that. I would rather give Wallace the 10 minutes that hook dishes out rather than continue to develop for the cowboys

Granville 10 minutes > Wallace 10 minutes

10 minutes of quick dummy half running that has led to points versus 10 minutes of generic prop work, that can be covered by Hannant or Kennedy.

Neither do I, but what annoys me is the club probably weren't even tableing an offer to Granville, so what choice did he have.

Not my point.

One will be here next year the other won't.

I don't believes Granville's 10 minutes will make any difference to this year

That's not true. It's been well publicised that they wanted to keep him and tabled a decent offer.

Cowboys offered him an opportunity for greater minutes and that's what he wanted.

I have nothing against him leaving and he has done the best for his career, but the assumption that he wasn't offered a contract is false

It has been reported that he was offered a contract for next year (I think even his manager confirmed this) but he wants to be a starting hooker and the Broncos couldn't offer that.

The last two times we've played at suncorp we have put 40+ on the team we were playing. I honestly can't see us losing this game. Shut down Dugan, Widdop and stop Merrin from offloading and we will win easily. Allow Merrin to stand all night offloading and Dugan to run amuck and we might just lose.

Our pack is 1000x better then theirs. The score line should reflect this after 80mins hopefully.

The storm are a different story. They always seem to beat us. Wing and win well agains the dragons and we might have a great platform to beat the storm.
