Round 25 - Sea Eagles vs Broncos - Post Match Discussion

Was talking about Norman actually. >_> <_<

But at this stage, Wallace is so out of form I'd relieve him and just give Norman/Hunt a real shot.
Yeah, that makes sense...
Let's just put the numpty who isn't up to first grade, and is in worse form than Wallace, but has been going okay at fullback, back in the halves... That'll do it! :001_rolleyes:

He's not in worse form than Wallace though, 1 game doesn't make up for the s**tty 10 that Wallace has had.

I'd even give Capewell a shot given how poorly Wallace has been since the Roosters game.

Smith, Cronk, Myles Scott, Tamou, Glen and Brett Stewart, Ash Harrison, Hodges, Gallen, The Morrises, Watmeow, Tate, Thurston, and most of them didn't get a rest.
What? Did you see the Storm, Cows, Sharks, Manly and even Cowboys after Origin?
Of those, only Scott and Myles have performed consistently, all the other either didn't play for while, or were out of form.
None of those teams bar the Storm rely as heavily on their SOO players as the Broncos.

And let's not forget that the Broncos missed 6 players throughout the rep season, compared to 3 for the Storm and Cows, who still managed to go to shit for a while!

Let's agree to disagree on that then. Because Norman has imo been the worst Broncos players for weeks by miles!

Wrong wrong wrong.

Norman and Wallace have both been equally shit. I wouldn't want to be choosing either of them.

So many agendas on here.

It's great isn't it ning?

Thanks to websites like BHQ, I've mastered the arts of splitting hairs.

Norman/Hunt together because there were some positive signs & it's something we haven't tried yet.

When is the buck going to stop at the halfback who hasn't played well since Round 16 (being generous too, but I think BHQ gave him points so yewww).

I spose that's a topic of conversation for the Penrith thread.

In isolation for this match, this game proved why I just don't rate Norman at fullback, he was shocking. With that said, none of our playmakers played well, heck, only one player did & even by his standards it was a quiet performance (talking about the man in mah avatar yo).

I think Norman is playing crap at the back, and Hoffman should be given another shot. Norman back to 5/8. Essentially, return to the same side more or less that did so well earlier this season.

Civo has to start with Hannant.

But then it doesn't matter on present form. We don't attack, we loiter with intent.

I just can't figure it out, how for 2 matches we do terrific things in attack with great line speed in defence, it looks like we are gettiing back the mojo, and then ... pfffft

I just can't figure this one out. Something is wrong beyond any individual's form. The talent is there. Is it because we don't have a real leader out there? if not, why not?

Such a disappointment ....

That's worked a treat. NOT

He seems to be working on the assumption that if our defense is OK, the attack will look after itself.

Sorry to say but it ain't working, and if anything, it's detracting from what little spark in attack we once had.

I think Griffin really needs to have a good look at his thoughts on attack if we're basically keeping the same squad for the next season (or two)

I think Beale should be put at the back because he offers less than nothing on the wing. Was it my imagination or did he stand there and watch Brett Stewart's try when he gathered the chip kick. Didn't even put his body in the way. He was either too far away (didn't look like it) or just assumed Norman was going to get the kick.

I'd have Norman on the wing doing a Luke Burt, Beale at the back.

That's how I saw it too gUt, really rubbed me the wrong way.

Norman on the wing? Doesn't seem like a very good idea IMO.
All for Beale at fullback though, with Maranta and Hoffman (I guess) on the wings.

Agreed that the lack of effort on the Stewart try was pretty shocking.

Not a fan of Copley user? He's slated to return this week.

Didn't know he was back. Not sure if I do like him anymore than Maranta though. Even though he was having a fairly solid year.
Hoffman has proven to be a pretty average winger so far, but I can't see him not being in the side.

Beale should be dropped for Maranta. He was hopeless on Friday night

That seems a little harsh. He was probably the best of our back 3. Which isn't really saying much.
