POST GAME [Round 27, 2023] Broncos vs Storm

Pisses me right off to lose to those cheating purple pricks but it was ressies in a basically meaningless game.

Sun will still rise tomorrow, and they'll still be cheating fuckwits that I hate regardless of if we won or lost tonight.

I'm glad you are taking it well...

As far as this Faalogo kid goes…?! Entertaining - sure
Quick - yep
Instinctual and Eyes Up footy - good
Think about who he reminds you of….

Here is a few hints - A fat, lazy, uninspired little garden gnome. He owes the Broncos a few million for playing like shit.

Faalogo even looks like him!! As as I was watching him tonight I thought - wow, that’s Milford.

Who would’ve thought playing 3 hookers would end well

If we’re going all in on Mozer, Paix is surplus to requirements when Mam needs re-signing

Yeah I don't think Paix will be getting many if any more opportunities. He has really gone backwards sadly and really, he is the only player in the squad who has. Might end up in ESL if no one in the NRL wants him.

Smoothey was going a lot better before he got completely gassed. Should have been spelled earlier.

That said, it wasn't long after Paix come on...... we went to shit.
Yeah, that's how I saw it too. But Paix coming on also was about when Moeroa also came on and he was running really well.

I'm pretty sure we only received 2 six again calls all night ... Our first was on tackle 1, the second came with a minute and a half left in the game
2 six agains to 4.
4 penalties against to 5
Average play the ball speed 3.12sec to 3.29sec

The Broncos just couldn't handle the Storm's physicality. Their players were constantly making the right choices coming off the line and the Broncos just didn't know how to counter players coming off the line. They just dominate the effort areas and that was where the Broncos were found wanting, Papenhuyzen had an age to put kicks up.

I'm not overly concerned with what the result can mean coming into the finals series, but moreso in 2024. Their players just looked far more well drilled than the Broncos and the simple areas like passing and defence was just night and day.

Brand new competition, Brisbane have put themselves in a fantastic position and that's all you can ask for at this stage. Whatever happens between now and October is all up in the air.
That was how I called it going into the game. Storm have a better system. We just provide the breeding ground for talent.

It was Klein so sort of expected really. Hopefully since we've had the bald dud this week someone else can suffer from his lack of consistency and piss poor decision making next week.

I would have liked to win but all things considered the game is meaningless. Thought it was a pretty average effort from a fair few blokes. We were 12-0 in the fight for a minor premiership and we went to shit from there. Defence was appalling. Whilst I don’t really care it’s pretty shit for the boys who have worked their ass off all year to get into a position to win a minor premiership only to be let down by a pretty half assed effort if we are being honest. Obviously you take that risk with resting but our boys were well and truely capable of a far better result/effort than that. Upwards and onwards who gives a **** (other than X’s injury and Piakuras impending suspension).
