Also, an injury to Kidley would be a blessing for the Knights. I'm not sure if Bennett has managed to reign him in, however his over-involvement is detrimental to the team, especially with Boyd and Bedsy now there.

If we take them on up the middle I think it could get ugly for the Knights. I'm not sure they have fully embraced Bennett culture yet, and their forwards are seriously lacking. They are their rate limiter and the main reason I don't expect them to compete for a top 6 spot.

Our best chance is to play a power game up the middle.

Watching the game against the Sharks right now, and the Knights seem very fragile in the middle of the ruck.

If we play hard through the middle and feed off that we should score a few points.

I reckon you can lock Slyney in if Te'o and Parker are injured.

Yes, that's the key, support runners, on either side of the ball carrier, a ball carrier who offoads, and support players, on the move and who are expecting an offload, not standing still, flat, day dreaming, which has been the norm so far, including a lot of last season, and seasons before.

And this is where Gillett and Hoffman ought to be: lurking on the edge behind the line, ready, with Hodges or Reed on their outside, ready to take a pass, and in turn they get support on the inside as well as having the option of the wingers.

Simple, structured, rehearsed.

He scored 2 tries for Redcliffe today and played well.

Gagai and Capewell both had very good games too.

Gagai played in the centres and looked dangerous every time he got the ball. Scored a try and had a hand in a couple of others.

Capewell came off the bench and Redcliffe looked better when he came on.

Awesome, thanks for the summary Jeb!

Any word on how the Devils went today? Sounds like they had a tough assignment.

Good to hear the Broncos affiliated players went well. I'd really like to see Gagai playing on the wing so he can be ready to play on the wing in the NRL.

I'd prefer him in the centres where he can continue his development..

Yeah, and watch him develop all the way to another NRL side, because we have Reed and Hodges in the centres.

Yeh. I forgot about that rule that you can only play in the position you played in the lower grades..........

That's not my thinking but would like to see him on wing so he gets more game related experience under the high balls.

Is anyone here really suggesting that Hodges and Reed are not our best centre pairing? As for Gagai, as I see it, the ONLY place for him is on the wing in place of Beale. What's the alternative? Anyway you look at it, as has been said before, we will lose one back sooner or later.

I was more having a go at Alec for saying that we will lose him to another club just because he's playing QCup in the centres.

It's not only about this year. The club is constantly planning years in advance. Hodges would only have a few seasons left in him whilst I think it will be genuinely difficult to squeeze Beale under the cap. Replacements aren't born overnight, they are groomed over years. Gagai is a realistic chance of being that replacement, therefore it's imperative he spend time in the centres in the reserves. His pathway into first grade is via the wing just like the majority of centres, however every game he can play at 3 or 4 will make the transition that little bit easier.

The club has obviously decided Hoffman will ideally be the long term fullback, otherwise I'm sure you'd see him playing there.

a loss like the one on friday just makes me itch for the next round even more. and its only sunday now. gah

Knights are red hot favorites..

No they aren't. They lost their best player in Gidley, Costigan might be out, which, whilst not a huge loss, is still significant given who would likely replace him. Early exchange odds also has us as favourite. There's no rational basis for that statement.
