I think you're being a bit harsh ... thought that was easily our best game of the year, but that might've been one of our best all round games in several years.

I agree with him on Riki. The guy hits up like a marshmallow man. It's just not good enough in a modern game where big units hitting with some starch is so important. Compare Piakura's big hit on Herbie with everything that Riki delivered....

These kind of stats would have lost us the game in the last few years.
Worth noting our two penalties were the Hammer brain explosion and then vid ref penalising phins on their own challenge... so apparently dolphins were basically perfect... in this fucking day and age a team doing absolutely nothing wrong in the ruck and never being offside.

Good win boys. Maybe it's because I'm a broncos fan but they need to change the short drop out rule. Why does a team get 20 meters and 7 tackles if you kick it dead but then get a 50-50 chance (90% against broncs) if they get pinned in goal. Doesn't seem to reward good play.

There has been an unrelenting assault on tactical kicking in this comp over the past decade. The line drop out is barely worth a pinch of shit to the attacking side anymore. Either the ball dribbles dead for 7 tackles, or they kick it short and get the ball back off a random lottery jostle for the ball. It's dogshit

Fair enough.
Do you think that performance gets us the win against a Penrith or Melbourne?
Hard to tell when the whistle was only going one way.

If we're playing the penrith that turned up last night then absolutely we beat them.

We completed as high as we could in the wet, had zero ball and Reynolds kicked them to death.

It was about as perfect as you can get with the hand that was dealt.

You're basically on your own to try and get any field position when you don't get any penalties or 6 agains... if penrith, melbourne or any team are dealt that hand I'm not sure they win.

Deadset, how many ads did they just put on Kayo to get to the presser? That was nauseating.

Funny because kicking has never been more important in the game... halfbacks are worth their weight in gold if they can even remotely kick a ball... yet one of the prized arts of the game is basically worth nothing

I'm with you. The refs have been atrocious for us to start this season. If we have won a penalty/six again count in any of the 4 games so far, I will be staggered because it sure as hell hasn't felt that way.

Wolff: We played a team tonight most would consider to be the best in the comp.
clearly he only watched trial games. while our start so far has been passable. we are far far far away from a Melbourne or penrith.
