PRE-GAME [Round 4, 2025] Broncos vs Dolphins

Dolphins are pretty crap, so even with our slow starts we should bank another win. Will be nice to have Staggs back. Need that strike while Reece finds his feet.

Broncos 30 - Dolphins 4

Staggs for who? Mariner is a weapon and is getting better and better but Shibasaki is going really well and takes a lot of tough runs out of our end.

Staggs in the 17 jersey?

Staggs in for mariner for sure. Has some highlight moments but his sideways runs in our 20 metre zone are not helping us get out of our zone.

Staggs in for Mariner. Deine can get a few games under his belt in Q Cup, work on his D.

Phins look awful this year, honestly believe they're worse than the cows. Very poor against weak'ish opposition.

With that being said, they will randomly turn into world beaters when they play us of course.

I agree, Shibasaki has been playing too good to just drop he even if means Mariner seeing time in Qcup.
Shiba would be my pick based on tonight's game, only if he can fix one thing (and he fucking can fix it) - Get up with some fucking intensity my dude. He's an absolute sloth at getting up to ptb.

Madge has some work to do with Walsh, he has been so poor.

Staggs must come in, and flip a coin who he comes in for. Shiba is just bland all round, and also has moments where he looks lost at sea when defending. Few times tonight he just ran out and didn't know what to do.

I hope this is more just Walsh and not a set play thing because Walsh has not handled anything in the Madge era thus far, he looks completely lost.

It's alarming because he is lost in the areas he was the most natural in before under Kevvie.

We could have put 20 more points on Cowboys if Walsh played like he did prior, because of it, it doesn't give me much confidence anymore going into any game.

He did look more solid in defence though I would say, but without his attack it's a huge missing weapon.

I haven't really been sold on Paix.

For mine, I think he would be better coming off the bench. I feel like he's more of an impact hooker. I would be starting Walters for this game and bringing Paix on after 20.
Paix is fine. He hasn't replicated his trial performances, but he's been a clear upgrade on Walters. He can't win, really. A few weeks ago he was being bagged for being too much about attack and not about defence. And now everyone is up him for not running the ball and becoming Macca MKII. He made 40 tackles last night. In 57 minutes. How do you complain about that?

If he's not running it, that must be what Madge wants: to feed the ball to his halves. But he does keep the momentum rolling.

Billy is painful to watch in that position, he's a handbrake on momentum. He telegraphs every move. But in fairness, he wasn't too bad last night. Also fine. For now.

I wouldn't drop or switch either in the short term.

The shuffle happens when Ezra returns.

Fox calling for Walsh to get suspended so he therefore will be, so I guess Cobbo to fullback and Staggs in to centre and Mariner to wing. A break might be the best thing for Walsh anyway.
He's been charged. $3,000 fine if he pleads guilty.

Paix and Hetherington have also been fined: $1,000 and $3000, respectively.

Only facing a $3k fine with an early guilty plea according to the Fox Sports website

I don’t know what else walsh could have done in that situation coming over down low at full speed. He did what any human being would do, protected himself from danger. The media would rather him go head first into Taulagi
