Through work I talk to a few Cowboys fans. Needless to say, they are still sobbing in the corner, calling it rigged, saying the refs robbed them. It's fucking great.
Sorry mate but you lost me there.
Hunt has been a half for most of his career with Brisbane yet unfortunately his kicking game is mostly bad and doesn't seem to be improving. Given he's 26 I've got doubts as to whether it ever will. What that means for his position in the side I dunno, Bennett will determine that. But it can make winning awfully difficult at times.
I thought Thurston struggled for the first half but got himself going when the game was on the line. I don't look at the stats but he seemed to fall off a few tackles.Slightly off topic, but I think I have underestimated how good a player Morgan actually is. I sort of felt that he was to a degree riding on Thurston's coat-tails but he is the real deal, very good player. And in that game for the first time Thurston looked a little old and off the pace (or it is the first time that it has struck me anyway). Did anyone else think that?

This is a good call on Morgan. There was little love on here for Morgan and his selection in state of origin was met with near disbelief as apparently anyone and everyone was a better choice ! I must say I never witnessed a really bad game from him.Slightly off topic, but I think I have underestimated how good a player Morgan actually is. I was miffed at first with Morgan's selection but came around when I thought more on it.
He was in arguably better form than Hunt at the time, was more versatile and had a established combination with JT so he had a lot going for him.
Dex also made a lot of good points around that time.
I don't necessarily believe Morgan has a mortgage on the position, but I can't begrudge the selectors going with him last year or even this year.
While on the subject (of Morgan), I don't know if I'd use Friday's game as an instance of Morgan taking JT's place. If there was one player who got things rolling for the Cowboys, it was Jake Granville who was electric out of dummy half and justified Green's decision to start him off the bench. Then in the second half, it was JT's freakish kick for the posts that changed the complexion of the contest. I couldn't see any of our halves coming up with that play in that position, it was glorious and there was nothing anyone of us could do but applaud it.
Morgan did well running off of Granville and JT, but I didn't think he led from the front or anything. If anything, I think a lot of credit has to go to Green who has figured out that it can't all be about JT. Like Bennett tried in 2006, he's given guys like Coote, Granville and Morgan more responsibility so JT can chime in with the finishing touches that no other team can compete with.
In saying that, there was something poetic about Milford beating him to set up Roberts. JT was quick to annoit him as his heir, make of that what you will.
Nothing except playing an integral part in the victories !He has done nothing at origin level.

The kick to the posts was effective last week, buts it's not a percentage play. 5% er, but who else but JT.I was miffed at first with Morgan's selection but came around when I thought more on it.

I heard that. He said that he didn't want to say anything after the Broncos game (about the Bunker) because he'd sound like a whinger! Can somebody tell Green to move on?
Was having a sook on Triple M today in light of the Tedesco try.
I like Paul, he gives Houdini a run for his money but he's coming off like a sook.
