POST GAME Round 4 - Broncos vs Cowboys

Not rating Eden personally. He's done nothing to give me a real reason to. Decent under the high ball but otherwise, he isn't much different from Maranta in his earlier days.

Most of the time I saw him defend he was in no mans land with Kahu already run in and thrown himself into a missed tackle so it Eden vs at least 2 every time.

Even in those instances Eden wasn't going into the tackle with the type of intent he should have.

Just on another note, I think this game proved the fact that Roberts certainly has the potential to play Fullback, his linebreaks on Friday night were in the middle of the field just from pure strength and speed, imagine him running the Boyd angles off Milford, that shit would be dynamite.

Give him another couple of years in the Centres to mature his game and get Boyd to slowly teach him the ropes, then once Boyd retires / moves to the wing, we've got a ready replacement.

His tackling came close to losing us the game. Put your body on the line ffs.

It just wasn't acceptable for a first grade player. I don't ever want to see those piss poor attempts again.

He did good in everything else except that.

Kahu came up with some piss poor attempts, as well.

I think this game just shows how important Reed is to our left side defence.

Counting the days until Reed & Oates return.
Until he hurt that shoulder, Kahu's defense had been impeccable. After that, he really shouldn't have stayed on the field, and the Cows were smart to target that side.

I would dare say that Kahu and Boyd are the best defenders in our backline, although I think Oates will get up there as well, once he gets used to defend on the wing.

I will 'hate' him till I take my final breath on this earth.

The GF was OURS until he stuffed up. (nope, I will not move on. EVER.)
I hardly ever, to my knowledge agree with you Kaz. I don't dislike Hunt but there is no doubt Hunt cost us the gf. He was the one player who let the team down. Yes, he got us there, yes, he played many fine games for the Broncos but it was his efforts that cost the club. That was before he dropped the ball.

Rubbish, the game was over when Feldt scored. Do whatever you need to do to make you feel better though.

I'm beginning to understand why my hate for the Cowboys is growing.........its their infernal whinging when things don't go their way. Always looking for somebody else to blame.

JT is a champion no doubt but enough with the whining mate. Green is just as bad.

Imagine how much complaining and whining like little girls we would have heard if they had lost the GF last year.

What event preceded Feldt's try, to hand 6 tackles back to the Cowboys. Clue: it happened in the 76-77th minute...

Which event would that be?

They didn't even score from that set.

That set anyway.

You can already see where Hunt is heading on this forum. He will be half the sites new whipping boy, taking over from Reed. Most of it wont be justified but that will be all sweet.

I would blame the ref before I blame Hunt.

Cowboys never should have even got the ball back.

Feldt knocked the ball out of Milford's hands and it went forward. It was a knock on.

Ref lets it go, Hunt picks it up and Feldt knocks it out of his hand. It landed in front of him and that was a knock on just about every other time throughout the year.

But still, Oates never should have come off his wing.

See, if this happened in reverse we would still be hearing about it from Cowboys fans. Couple that with the refs refusing to give ruck penalties to us in the last thirty for some unbeknownst reason (there were a number of clear cut penalties right in front of the sticks that would have taken us to 6 in front), and you have all the ingredients necessary for a Cowboys-esque conspiracy theory. But we - the Broncos as a collective - accepted our faults and took the result on the chin, as it should be done in the professional sporting world.

Edit: On that note, has anyone noticed that the Cows have become the new rorters when it comes to giving away ruck penalties on purpose when a team is on the attack? The refs need to do something about, because there is no disincentive whatsoever when you know that the refs will give you ridiculous penalties to square up the count.

p.s - I'm watching the Magpies vs Jets game, Caleb Timu is an NRL player. He's got strength and skill, really like the look of him.

Give him or something like Pangai jr a run over Wallace who has been MIA thus far. I think we have too many props (Thaiday is still being played as a prop) with the current interchange rules, especially when you have Blair and McQuire in the starting side, both who can play big minutes.

+1

The thing that encouraged me most was that we managed to pull out the game breaker play (Milford's linebreak) that we couldn't in last years GF.

And Milford's field goals - we've got a tie-breaker, finally.

Hopefully that is the 1% that will get us the title this year.

These Broncos/Cowboys games are going to be phenomnal and play a similar story over the next 2-3 years. Cowboys play dead for 65 minutes, grind a smash with Tamou, Scott and Tamololo. Thurston then injects himself, Morgan hits the tired left edge and hopefully we are up by enough points to win.

We have a more talented side (across the park).
