Why enforce some, and not others?
Do you really need to ask? It's the WWNRLE, they make it up as they go.
Because crackdown or not, it is still a rule. One where infringements should result in penalties. They're not even trying to hide it any more - literally lift one foot off the ground and roll the ball backwards. It's why the Roosters' forwards looked so good up until the end of 2015, why they were dog shit last year (crackdown), and why they "looked like the were running incredibly hard" tonight. With a tunnel-ball, it not only means the pass from DH is easier to time (so the forward taking the hit-up can be at full-steam and receive the pass flat), but it also means that the player playing it doesn't have to stand up fully, meaning it happens before the markers are even able to get up and in to position, taking them out of play.I mean, yeah, great tactic, but it's cheating.
Being 10 metres off-side for every kick would be a great benefit, same as if you could shepherd your player through the line via obstructions. But it's too easy, so you can't, that's why the rules are there. Why enforce some, and not others?

Don't get me wrong.....I'm on your side. The play the ball has become a complete joke. Problem is ....it's not a recent occurrence. It's been that way for years. All it would take is to throw out a few penalties every game....consistently, and coaches would start to drill their players on performing the act properly.
But......Ive inferred consistency.
That word completely mind ***** the NRL.
Great post again, Morkel. The one thing that really irks me is that they'll be completely arbitrary penalties. Like the Adam Blair one against the Cowboys. Just out of the blue and we'd seen a hundred tackles like that all game. Thurston takes the two, the game restarts and both teams do the exact same thing that just resulted in a penalty.
It's absolute crap.
Can you explain catch up penalties? You're losing me with your insistence that the referees are deliberately influencing the game. I respectfully decline your offer to sit at the tin foil hat table.
Human incompetence....bad management...bad coaching (referee)

Even for those who don't believe in conspiracies, this one is hard to explain. It's like when you are coming last in Mario Kart, you know you will get the bullet in the box. The NRL should not be like that.

Are you sure? Tin foil hats have come a long way, both in technology and style.
Sorry to poop your party but I believe that is a duct tap hat and not a tin foil.
