Still very pumped after last night's great effort but I'm still desperately ad for Yow-Yeh. It's a shocker of an injury and you'd have to wonder if he'll be able to do the same things when he comes back. Can you imagine what will go through his head when he next jumps to contest a bomb amongst a throng of players? I hope we're scouring for the best surgeons in the country but it seems the real work will come with the rehab.
On the game itself - as I mentioned last night it's our most couragous win in years and will give them an enormous amount of confidence.
So who comes into the team? You'd think Copley but with Gagai being 18th man he's also well in contention.
JHARAL Yow Yeh's injury has been diagnosed in Perth today after he was taken to hospital during last night's NRL match against South Sydney.
The Australian Test winger has a compound fractured and dislocated right ankle after landing awkwardly attempting to catch a bomb in the first half of the game.
This morning he underwent a temporary procedure at the Perth hospital to have the wound cleaned and closed where the bone had broken the skin.
There will be further surgery once Yow Yeh has been seen by a specialist.
No comment will be able to be made on the amount of time he will be out of the game until that consultation with the surgeon and the second procedure has taken place.
The injury is not deemed career threatening.
Team management and the team doctor stayed with Yow Yeh in Perth when the team flew back overnight.
Yow Yeh's mother will join him in Perth today.
Gagai for sure.
I'd be happy with either. This is a great opportunity for one of them to cement themselves at the club. There's a wing spot available next season with Beale going (I'm not going to entertain the thought of Yow Yeh not coming back fit next year).
Why would he need 2 years off? Bad break but it's not as bad as an Achilles tendon rupture. Broken bones are one thing, they can heal. Ruptured tendons and ligaments are another and there's more chance of reinjury for tendons and ligaments than it is for broken bones.
