Kotoni Staggs:

“I haven’t lost faith in my ability. I have put my game against the Cowboys behind me. I went over the things I did wrong that day but the best thing is to put it in the past. I have to focus on myself and getting back to my best. I know I’m in for another tough game this week. The Roosters are a good side and Joey Manu is a great player, but I need to worry about myself and get my game in order. I am confident the big plays will come again, I just have to be patient and my best form will come eventually.”

“Not many people see behind closed doors what I’ve gone through over the past two years with injuries. I want to get more ball, 100 per cent. Justin Hodges was one of the best centres at coming in and scooting out of dummy half and getting away from the ‘A’ defender. I have to start doing a bit more of that and getting into the game. I am still working on my timing and fitness. I am coming back from injury and people are expecting big things from me straight away, but it takes time. I have to be patient with myself and have faith that my best form will come.”

Kevvie:

“Reyno is still getting to know Kotoni’s game. I think it’s important that Adam provides Kotoni with enough ball to cause some real damage on that right side.”

McHunt

Kind of concerning how often he mentions "big things" who wants big things from him?

I honestly just want him to cart the ball up more than 5 times a game, and hold the god damn ball. I hope KW knows how to deal with a star player who's lost confidence, because the worst mentality is to think you need to go big, you need to go back to basics and perfect that first.

At least we know he's self-aware, so hopefully that translates into hard work at training. I'm just asking for a game with no errors, it's not much. Hold the ball Kotoni.

Hard to judge without knowing what the leading question was but he seems to be overly concerned with the big plays and that is reflective of what is wrong with his performances. Trying to force big plays rather than rolling his sleeves up and doing the basics well.

I just hope that this is the last week we see Turpin as the starting hooker.

Kevvie:

“We want to keep Payne here long-term and that’s what we plan on doing.”
“Payne has been our best player since I’ve been here consistency wise. I love what he brings to our club. He’s had some indiscretions which we are all aware of, but from a playing point of view, he has made a huge difference."
“We’re getting around Payne and supporting him, as we do with all our players. We are in the spotlight at the Broncos whether you like or not and we have to abide by all the rules like the other clubs. It’s about supporting our players and getting around them when they are in tough times. We would like to think we support them. You need your best players on the field, but sometimes they get injured or suspended. I don’t think Payne did anything too wrong (in his clash with Kelly). It’s disappointing, but we are supporting Payne.”
“It won’t be disruptive, we have guys ready to go. We don’t know when the NRL will hand down their sanctions, there mightn’t even be a suspension, so we have to get on with it."
"’Payno’ is wearing jumper No.10 and he will be playing against the Roosters. I feel as a club we are very focused on where we are going with our culture and our playing group. There will be minor hiccups here and there, but we will deal with them internally and get on with things. That’s what we plan to do this week. We have a great opportunity against the Roosters at home to go out and play like the Broncos.”

McHunt

I fear Manu is going to have a day out against our edge defence

That confirms it. The Kev kiss of death. See ya, Payno.

Not only that, Kotoni says he needs to do more than he is bla bla bla, what are the chances he does absolutely nothing?

What's the word on Riki? Is he right to play tomorrow?

Watch us get the call 10 minutes into the game that Payne is suspended and needs to come off immediately. He then gets his contract torn up by NRL but is able to sign a new deal and run out for the roosters at half time.

The NRL would also likely backdate his suspension, and then fine the club for playing a suspended player.

Yep. $100k fine and the docking of 6 competition points of course to put us on -2 and at the spoon.

My boycott has lasted 0 weeks and I'll be attending the game with the old man.

The last time I watched a Roosters game with him was the 2015 prelim, obviously I'm expecting a similar result.
