I deliberately shut-up right after we dished that crap, because I was seething and wouldn't be able to at least try to be objective...
5 hours later, my opinion hasn't changed at all, and at the risk of parroting what almost everyone seems to have figured out, it is clear that changes are required. However, wholesale ones might cause more harm than good, so here's my attempt for the Tigers game:
1- Knik (I can't disagree with the idea of Bird there, but I really think Kodi could be our Matty Bowen)
2- Oates (please train nothing but catching the ball, be it from a bomb or a pass)
3- Boyd (as much as I'd love to do it, we can't drop the captain (yet). I reckon he could be quite serviceable there until Roberts is back)
4- Bird (he will develop a lethal combo with Milf imo)
5- Isaako (until Roberts is back, at which point Boyd slides into the wing)
6- Milford (I refuse to scapegoat this guy until he has a proper half next to him)
7- ANY FUCKING ONE with a clue on how to organise a game
8- Matt Lodge (I didn't want this kid at the club, but he's quickly becoming one of my favs)
9- Macca (he cannot play 80 mins, and he needs to have someone gunning for his position)
10- TPJ (I think he's more valuable in shorter powerfull bursts for now, at least until he matures and becomes more consistent)
11- David Fifita (sorry Alex, but you're just not at a starter level anymore)
12- Gillett (should have never left the position)
13- Ofa (I definitely think this is his position, he has an offload and the work rate for it)
14- Staggs (not that he's not deserving of a starting spot, but I want him to relieve Macca, and gain experience at hooker, who knows if doesn't become Berro Mark II)
15- Glenn (still very serviceable and can give young Fifita a breath) / Su'a will eventually take over once fit
16- Haas (hope he delivers on the promise)
17- Flegler/Carrigan (we won't go wrong with either of them imo)
If the Kodi experiment fails (after 4/5 rounds), then Bird is definitely my next in line for the FB position. He would definitely at least properly lead from the back.
Seibs really has to start looking at his captaincy options, because Boyd is anything but an example on the field.
