Walsh, Sailor and Mam could be pretty entertaining to watch.
I'm sure they've got some trick plays up their sleeves.
Our forwards need to really lay the Platform and work the dolphins middles over. We could put 50 on them but if the forwards don't do their job this isn't going to happen.

Totally agree and then you look at number 10 and say, well there goes that theory.

Referee is Adam Gee
Oh for **** sake!!!

And fucking Klown in the bunker and Sharpe on the sideline... this is a who's who of complete **** up officials... NSWRL aren't fucking around with the result this time they've sent in the A-Team to get it done!!

Personally I'm not sure about carrying both Smoothy and Sailor on the bench. I would have slotted Sailor straight onto Mariner's wing spot and left Oates to practice his stints at second row, or Oates to wing, drop Sailor and play Te Kura. I do somewhat rate Sailor but I'd rather Kevvie not get this idea in his head that he must keep him in the side even at close to full strength just because the media keep on going on about him being deserving of a full time spot.

I can't help but think the one two punch of Willison and Te Kura would have done well to offset the pillow in the number 10 having zero impact.

I'll be interested to see how Sailor goes and in what role he ends up playing... if he can somehow hold his own in the middle then we could have a Kodi style supersub available to the squad again.
The way I see it, it's the same as having Oates on the bench, with Sailor on the wing - except in reverse, if you get what I mean. That is, that Oates is the actual utility, who can play in the forwards or backs. Unless Walsh or one of the other backs is injured. In which case, we're down a forward.

Was never going to happen. Kevvie needs a back on the bench. That's either Oates or someone to cover Oates. Te Kura should be on the bench. Willison should have Baker's spot.

What about giving Mozer a run? Is there any update on his Q Cup performances to date?

Can he also slot in as a backrower......?

Thats the point with Kobe.

He's not going to risk two (effectively) rookie props on the bench. Could give us massive impact, but also end up complete liabilities if defending for long. And definitely none of them starting. Big Ben had one of the better prop debuts I have seen but he was only in because X was out, they will take it in turns throughout the season.

Of course this will be Kevvie’s thinking too and it has merit but it avoids the pillow in the room.

Curious what you all think about this? Lot of unreasonable pressure being put on young bloke through posts like this

Its a fair point that JT was nothing to think about in his first few years but that said, there were still times when you could see he was obviously more gifted then others, when given an opportunity.

I agree....with the final comment....
whos the next crop of JT's, DCE's, Lockys, etc etc

There is none... was the Joey answer.

At least not in the current climate. Ezra has a lot of Alfie about him with his stature and running game but he needs the footy smarts to go with it.

I saw the team list and I'm not that sure on it either. I was hoping they would have gone:

8. Jenson
10. Willison
13. Carrigan

15. Baker
16. Te Kura

Then had Willison and Te Kura playing the same role, and had Jenson and Baker playing the same role. I don't know how Hetherington, Sailor and Smoothy would have all fit in.

Yeah if a second rower goes down... Oates moves infield and Sailor to the wing.

I'm more interested if there are no injuries and how Kevvie intends to use him then.

Kevvie carried Mariner on the bench against dogs and it was Cobbo that went into the forwards for a stint... he could do similar with Oates moving infield.

Or does he throw Sailor into the middle defence as a roaming lock/fullback... does he throw him into hooker and Smoothy/Billy doing a stint in the middle as lock.

I'm not sure how Kevvie will use him at the moment... and I'm also not sure how Sailor will play when he's not strictly ball playing from fullback.

I flagged Kodi and how he was a supersub that we had in 2015, etc. He used to come on with an intent to run... none of this fucking around at lock, it was just pass from dummy half or run if there was an opportunity.

Tristan looks to be more of a ball player first and a runner second, from what I've seen so far... so even that Kodi supersub role at hooker may not be suitable for Tristan... however he might have a license this game so I'll be interested to see how the game plays out and whether it's an option moving forward.

I think one thing this early injury crisis is providing is an opportunity to check flexibility of players to play other roles in the team.

Our depth is fucking trash this year, but if we can find some guys outside the top 17 that are NRL level quality and can play multiple roles it helps us out immensely for the rest of the year and they might even find themselves in the 17 due to their flexibility i.e. Oates.

We know Tristan can cover Reece... if we find that he can do a role coming off the bench... suddenly his value across the squad is increased and he's potentially not looking to move to ESL in November, and then we have our top notch fullback cover sitting there ready to go, but he might have a job in the 17 every week as well.

Similar with Oates... he's an NRL level winger, but if he can play in the forwards off the bench... then it could be a mini career revival and gives us more options in the 17 and across the squad moving forward.

Sam Walker is one I expect will massively improve as he matures. Dearden and Mam are already halfway there.
