POST GAME [Round 6, 2026] - Broncos vs Cowboys

Ok just saw the disallowed try (part of the 20mins I missed)

Gem clearly looks at the ball once he realises how close he is and then Chester had already dropped it by the time he affected anything.

Absolute joke.
But the bunker ruled he was a disruptor 2m out, before he looks up. So by that definition, you can't raise your hands or you're technically trying to disrupt unless you ball watch and jump for it. What sport are we watching again?

The funny part was when the bunker says "is only looking at Chester" and the vision clearly shows Shiba looking up.

The reason he stops looking up at the ball is because Chester has already dropped it & shiba is reacting to where the ball is. What is he supposed to do, keep his hands in the air & stare into the sky at nothing? How can it be a disruptor of he’s already dropped it before shiba has got anywhere near him? I don’t understand what the nrl are trying to achieve by eliminating any contest for the ball, it’s honestly at the point where they might as well just make it nfl and eliminate any contest for the ball at all, they can all just stand around and wait for the backs to catch it.

Haven't seen the game yet but by the comments we did ok...a win is always better but the amount of outs does have significant impact on defensive patterns which shouldn't be under estimated. Sounds like Duffy had a pretty good first game which is encouraging. If the injuries and suspension happens will be interesting next few weeks!

I cannot understand the confusion about the Drinkwater penalty. It’s not about him pulling out or turning his back. It’s that he touches Karapani before he has a chance to catch the ball. It’s not even close to a controversial call. Even if he goes up and looks at it the whole time, he still impacts the player trying to catch it which is a penalty.

The disruptor rule only comes out when the bunker is looking for make ups.

Staggs dropped a bomb in the first half, but Clifford came running through his legs to take him out... apparently that's fine.

In the dogs vs panthers game... dogs players were full sprinting and just jumping into Jenkins and co, but keeping their arms low.

They have no intention to compete on the ball they're just running into the catchers so they knock it on.

Apparently that's all fine, but if you jump early you're somehow putting the catcher off too much and it warrants a penalty.

Drinkwater was penalised for jumping into Karapani... which he should be... he's not competing on the ball he's just jumping into the guy trying to catch it

not dissimilar to Mariner last week which went against us.....

Which is completely the opposite of the Shiba call, where Shiba never even gets close to him before he drops it - yet the ruling is the same.

Make it make sense?

Can’t win games if you don’t compete in defence.
We lost nearly every single play the ball and were passive on every set. Zero intensity and no line speed.

Our defence across the board tonight was atrocious.
Are you Ben?

All part of the Vlando plan, slowly evolving us to touch football, they'll take kicking completely out of the game at some point, can't be a completion in the air if you not allowed to kick the ball.

He makes no attempt to catch the ball, takes Karapani's arms out mid-air. That's a textbook penalty.
