If the high ball goes up tonight on Vidots wing against Tupou, Vidot should just punch the ball over the dead ball line and concede a line dropout. Don't give Tupou one chance to catch the bomb because he will outjump him every day of the week.

Me personally, I am not expecting a win tonight. We are not good enough yet to compete for 80 minutes with the likes of the Roosters, Souths, Bulldogs etc. I will love to be proven wrong tonight, but realistically, who here expects us to win?

I am not expecting us to get drilled like we did in Round 1 but what I am expecting is a 80 minute solid performance with plenty of heart, intensity & discipline.

Hoping for the win but not too sure.
Pearce will be looking to bounce back from an average performance last week and I'm fully expecting Napa to absolutely terrorise us in the middle.

Hunt, Macca and McG all need to have good games if we want to come away with the win comfortably.

Unless he doesn't out jump him.

I believe we can and will win tonight. We need to be strong in the middle we dont need to beat them there. Getting caught there will kill us. We need hunt and milf to be unpredictable, we need them to take chances and to use inside plays. We may not have the electic back line, but we have guys that are more then able to get the job done. Parker must be offloading, Moose must be angry, Gillett must be playing at above 90%. Macca needs to take chances. All are able to do this and must tonight. I predict that id milf and hunt take this game by the balls we win. Pearce of shit and mildrony will crack underpressure if thier set play does not bare fruit, Thaiday will be huge tonight, his best of the year. otherwise we fail.

We'll only know after tonight.

Round 1 was a complete outlier.

Take your point, we got the Cowboys on an off day (their worst), Sharks and Titans easy pickings, and Warriors game we got a little lucky.

The Best Week Of His Life - Broncos

It's not often that making your NRL debut for the Broncos isn't the best thing that happens to a player in a certain week.

But Mitch Garbutt can say that after he played his first game for the Broncos and became a father for the first time all in the same week.

His partner Ruth gave birth to a little girl just days before he ran onto the field against the Titans last Friday.

The former Storm prop has waited patiently for his chance with the Broncos after a back injury hampered his pre-season.

And when he finally got the call it was a massive time for him and his family.

"We won so it was good," he quipped about his debut last Friday.

"I didn't make too many mistakes so that was good too.

"The boys were all really good as well, so it was a good way to cap off a pretty big week for myself.

"It has been pretty busy - not so much stressful, just pretty exciting."

Garbutt even made a Bronco-themed joke about the name chosen for his new daughter.

"It is a little girl - Jordan," he said.

"I named her after (Broncos teammate) Jordan Kahu because he has been going so good.

"Okay - that's not true."

Tonight Garbutt will have another significant moment when he plays his first game as a Bronco on Suncorp Stadium.

It is going to be a huge challenge for the Broncos as they meet one of the premiership favourites in the Roosters.

It's been a long journey to this game for a boy from Newcastle.

"It's been a bit of a trip but I always loved the Broncos as a kid," he said.

"They have always been a successful team so it has been an honour to play for them.

"It is very exciting to play at Suncorp Stadium.

"The Roosters are a world-quality pack so it is going to be a really big test for myself."

Mitch seems cool.

I think the result will be determined in the 2nd half. Apparently we are the best team in the competition for F/A in the first half. I'm not sure what our record is like in the 2nd 40. But you would have to think we would have to put on a massive score in the first half or play really well in the 2nd to win this one. As the Roosters showed against the Sharks, even when they are off their game they are never out of the contest.

Here's a question to ponder over the next few hours, is this a season defining game for us?

If we win it will be the making of us as a top four side for 2015, but we can always bounce back from a loss with Hodges, Boyd, Kahu to return throughout the season.

I really don't think so. Say we lose, even if we are thumped, we are missing Hodges, Boyd, Blair, and Kahu who will all be back over the next month or so, that's almost a third of the starting line up. A big loss would hurt, but wouldn't define our season imo.

Similarly if we win, Bennett is smart enough to know its just another 2 points. Sure we would get confidence from but wouldn't guarantee us a spot in the top 4 just because we beat a genuine contender in round 6.

If we were 1 and 4 or even worse 0 and 5, then yeah, its season defining time but at 4 and 1 we have bought ourselves a few more weeks before we get to that point.

We've been in contests against the Roosters for the past couple of years, we just haven't been able to perform the whole 80.

If we can do that and improve our start to the second half, we could come away with a win.

But I'm not confident.

I've been to too many losses to be confident.

No, but it is a good benchmark game to see where we rank against the top sides.

I'm willing to discount the match against Souths based on a few reasons but I think after a few confidence building wins, it'll be interesting to see how we stack up and where we've improved/need to improve.

I do think we'll win though, 1-12.

Kinda worried that we'll be exposed with kicks. I remember there was a kick last week where Vidot took forever to turn and chase. I also observed Maranta was very shallow at times, particularly early on in the set. If Maloney puts in a long kick for Jennings on tackle 2 then Jennings likely scores, based on what I saw last week.
