Round 6 Discussion

cowboys have such an amazing roster on paper. best foward back in comp coupled with amazing spine. only a matter of time though before injuries start crippling them they have had a dream run with injuries

Great win Cowboys - it shouldn't have been their night and yet they found a way to win.

I thought their middle forwards were fantastic. Scott, Tamou, Hannant and Taumalolo were a real handful and gave Jake Granville the opportunity to poke his head through. Credit to Gavin Cooper as well. The way he was able to contort his body under the attention of four defenders and somehow get the ball down was a crucial play and it gave his side the impetus they needed to go on with the game.

His fellow ex-Panther Lachlan Coote continued his rich vein of form with some fantastic efforts in defence and a great field goal. The pass from Granville was ugly, but Lachlan made it look better than it was and showed great composure to steady himself.

I know it's early days, but if the Cowboys can maintain their roster they're going to have their say come September. They just tick all the boxes you need for a premiership side. The only concern I have is their discipline. They're giving away a lot of penalties and it's cost them a few matches already. If they can tighten that up, start better they'll be unstoppable.

Penrith were willing and showed some nice signs out there, but the way their defence just crumbled for the Gavin Cooper try was concerning. They were well on top for the majority of the second half, gifted field position through soft penalties or mistakes and they only had the eight points to show for it. On one hand, it was good defence from North Queensland. On the other, Penrith would often spoil their set with one forced play which left the Cowboys off the hook.

They have a good opportunity to bounce back next week against the Roosters. You would think if they were any chance of playing finals footy they'll have to win that game as it doesn't get any easier from there with matches against Cronulla (A), Raiders (H) and Warriors (H*) afterwards.

Very enjoyable game that one, great end to end contest and some very good individual performers on each team. I mentioned earlier how composed Milford is, I was really impressed by how Moylan performed. He completely nullified the Cowboys kicking game, he didn't drop one bomb and came up with some big plays towards the end. It's great to see blokes who are still early in the career play like they have years under their belt.

"Dylan Napa's performance against the Roosters was on of the most aggressive I have seen." - Gordon Tallis

I hope he can reproduce that sort of performance when he finally gets his call-up to the Origin side.

Yeah gordon Tallis has way too many head knocks. A few weeks ago on the radio when we were playing the Panthers he said that Anthony Griffin knows what he's up against because he used to coach Milford.

What about last week on the Matty Johns show, he said he thinks Dylan Walker should be playing lock for Manly.

I'm having a terrible week I've only got 1 game correct which was our game against the Dragons.

Gold Coast Titans
19. William Zillman
2. Anthony Don
3. Josh Hoffman
5. Nene McDonald
1. David Mead

Cronulla Sharks
Prior starts ahead of Tagataese
Beale comes in for Bukuya off the bench

Keen to see Cullen & Taylor in action.

Benny Barba with one of the best no tries you'll see.

Can't believe the referee missed it.

Or not...gee that's an awful call.

I'm over these crusher penalties.

It was worse than the Matt Scott one last night, but not by much. However, since players are getting rewarded no questions asked they'll keep doing it.

Cronulla are beginning to get the better of the Gold Coast here.

Fifita has to be in the Australian team, he has been killing it this year. Great ball from Graham to Feki.

You're easily impressed. Half of the reason the Kangaroos lose lately is because of ridiculous errors and penalties from players like Bird, Fifita and Tamou. Plus him and Tamou are lazy as ****.
