Round 6 - Titans v Broncos - Pre-Match Discussion

4-3 record at Skilled. Not very confident about a win at their home ground when they're coming off a win against Storm.

Perhaps I should have bought a ticket to this game. I've never been to a loss against the Titans. I've been to that ground 3 times, and every time Broncos have won.

16. Hannant
17. Hala

Kind of a piss take but I've believed for a while that Reed will finish his career in the 2nd row. Maybe it's time to start working towards that? We currently have a fair bit of talent in the backs and at this stage, he's the weakest link.

Reed has 1 more week to improve (purely because I know Griffin won't drop him) or he's out of my avatar.

Mate, not a bad lineup. I think we give Niko a go, he wasn't too bad in the Auckland nines and to me, he kinda had a spark about him. Fast, can kick, can pass and I believe he is an actual fucking half!!!!

I think two titans are in trouble. Fallon and I don't know who the other is but both tackles looked bad. Dave Taylor, Greg Bird and Albert Kelly were the only ones that looked dangerous. Shut them down and we should win.

I think people need to start taking the Titans very seriously, they've got some injuries to key players at the moment, at full strength comes finals time, they could seriously push some teams.

1. William Zillman
2. Kevin Gordon
3. David Mead
4. Brad Takairangi
5. James Roberts
6. Aidan Sezer
7. Albert Kelly
8. Luke Douglas
9. Matt Srama
10. Nate Myles
11. Greg Bird
12. Dave Taylor
13. Ashley Harrison

14. Beau Falloon
15. Mark Minichiello
16. Luke Bailey
17. Ryan James

That's a formidable team, also taking into account they've got Maurice Blair, Brad Tighe and Kalifa Faifai Loa in pushing for spots.

can't wait to see Oates get his 2 hit ups in the 70th min and then be benched in the 73rd minute. love you hook

@travismeyn: Looks like Titans centre Brad Tighe will miss about a month of footy with an AC injury. #NRL

No Paul Carter?

The kid looks live a very good prospect if you ask me

No doubt he will be, but I'd have Srama and Falloon ahead of him at the moment. Depending on how Srama returns from shoulder surgery of course.

I can't help but feel something is seriously wrong at the Titans. Maybe the players don't get along with the coach or vice versa. They have some massive potential, but apart from a couple of good seasons it's been nothing but mediocrity. When they came back into the comp, I bought into the hype about them. I thought Broncos had a threat that could take over as the best side from QLD, but they really haven't lived up to expectations for mine..

Until they can sort out the issues that have been holding them back, I can't see them being a threat in the finals. If they even make the finals.

I think the first step is getting rid of Cartwright.

Cartwright seems to be a protected species at the Titans. If any other coach had his results, they would have been sacked a long time ago.

More than anything, we really need to make sure we up the tempo in this game.
The Titans play so well against a retreating oposition.. Particularly their quick outside backs.
Pressure too to make sure we find open spaces with our long kicking game.... Something Macca needs to help out with.... more dummyhalf kicking please !!

I agree but I wonder if it is due to finances, they struggle very badly financially and maybe they cannot afford a termination pay-out?

If our forwards aim up, we can win. But our forwards need to aim up. Parker is being wasted at prop imo. Start hannant, stick glenn back on the bench and have parker fill in for 20 minutes when hannant and McGuire are off the field.

how the titans are leading hte comp is beyond me. they look pretty average and seem to come up with fluke tries more often than not coupled with albert kelly intercepts. once teams start taking them seriously they will fall away unless they themselves improve alot.

i've no idea what to expect this week. i havent watched the replay of last weeks game (was at the game but sitting behind the sticks, not the best perspective) but we really should beat the titans.

I think i read Srama has complications with his shoulder so i am expecting Carter to be sole hooker this week as Falloon is a gonna at the judiciary

I expect us to tonk the Titans the same way we did the Dragons after the Roosters loss. That and we have a historical edge over the Titans.

Hunt is the form half back of the competition. He's making the big plays happen, something we haven't seen for a long time.

Gillett and Thaiday are finally back on form.

McCullough relishing 80 minutes and adding a genuine attacking threat.

And we're yet to even see Barba or Hodges firing (which they will)!

Gone are the one dimensional Broncos that's for sure.

Hunt the form halfback of the comp? Seriously?
