Round 7 - Broncos vs Knights - Post Match Discussion

great performance, was a TEAM EFFORT which was very good to see, and the bench rotation worked because it didnt stand out like other games, players came off and on but the intensity stayed +1 Hoffman a passenger, he showed hes still got it which is great, just not at no#6

Very good performance

Defence AND attack were good and having a high completion rate helped tremendously. Scoring 32 points against a good team after a tremendously shit attacking performance is another good sign.

I would like to see Granville get more game time. He can be a gun player against a tiring opponent. Barba was encouraging which was good and the fact he scored a try will give him a boost. McCullogh worked harder than a Malaysian kid in a factory (those kids work harder than anything I've seen).

The only negative was Hoffman. He isn't a half but he went ok when he started passing the ball and using his men.

We went back to playing some footy and guess what the world didn't cave in, we actually looked keen to follow the ball. I'll give the D a wrap although Newcastle are fairly limited we did have to work hard the first 30 in particular.I'll be happy if we attack with that sort of intent even if we blow some games along the way.

the thing is hook will drop Granville when thaiday comes back. hard to get continuity in a squad. parker is a gun lock and Hoffman a gun winger. hook won't stick to his guns

That **** griffin used all our bench, look what happened! Granville and Oates should play every game, **** lowrie off we don't need him. Undicided on Kennedy, give him another week or two, **** Hoffman off, even tho he played better, he's still a shit **** that can't pass, for **** sake Hannant would be better at 5/8

Just enjoy the win, leave the negativity for when the squad for Round 8 is announced.

Good game, I love Hoffman, but it has to stop, he could be such a dangerous Centre / Winger, instead he's a mediocre Five-Eighth who constantly bombs easy tries.

Great to see Barba back with some confidence, heart sunk when he got hurt, it's obviously the same ankle that bothered him last year and in the Auckland Nines, that surgery in the off-season didn't help at all, he's still favouring it and constantly grimacing after tackles, he may need some more surgery in the off-season, if not sooner, and a prolonged break, I really don't want him doing any long-term damage.

3 - Gillett
2 - McCullough
1 - Parker.. Hunt.. Barba..

Hodges, Reed, Copley, Vidot all did well tonight as well, the only major disappoint once again, was Kennedy, the bloke is a pillow.

A convincing win.. how good is it!

This team needs some lithium though.. bi-polar as hell.

Barba - Class game, really showed a lot in everything tonight, hope the ankle is ok.
Vidot - Buy of the season for us, runs like Steve Price and constantly gets our sets off to a good start.
Reed - Where has that been son? Great game, glimpses of his debut season.
Hodges - Did his job well and some classy touches at key moments, welcome back Hodgo.
Copley - Safe as a house and positioned himself well all night, solid game.
Hoffman - Quality player but that serves as a plug to any flowing play.
Hunt - He is our future, is learning to control games and once his obligatory one or two errors a game get ironed out, he will be a star.
McGuire - Seems he is a penalty magnet unfortunately but our best prop by a country mile, love his aggression.
McCullough - Phenomenal again, what a season he is having, quite possibly gone ahead of Friend this season.
Kennedy - If he wasn't so big, you wouldn't notice him, built like a cement wall and plays like he is made of straw.
Glenn - Excellent first half, didn't notice him in the second.
Gillett - Complete performance, almost perfect game, enough said.
Parker - Hook take note, that is why he is better at lock, offload, offload, offload, miracle offload.

Granville - Good spark and certainly did his job in an energetic cameo.
Hannant - No nude run this year, pretty solid performance and deserves Kennedy's starting spot after tonight.
Oates - Love this kid, first run lead to a break and offload, has to be in the team every week, just too good not to be.
Kennedy - Welcome to the big time, a lot of energy and sustained it, this is why I have been saying he has a future.

Hook - Thaiday out forced his hand, the team looked far more balanced and that is how you use a bench!

There was atleast two or three times Hoffman could have passed and a try was on, but the **** run it him self. If there was two Hoffmans on the field and the hog Hoffman passed to the winger/centre Hoffman, the **** would have finished with a hat trick. I may sound negative but as glad as I am they won, they really should have put 50 on the nights tonight.

The first time this season the Broncos haven't conceded a single point in the second half. Good effort.

Is that you WB.

**** off with all your negativity.

A gutsy effort tonight from the boys, very proud of it and quite timely too. Still a few areas that need work but was glad to see them show some resolve in the middle and some creativity in offence. I especially enjoyed the Barba try, for mine, it's one of the best Broncos try I've seen in sometime.

good win and effort all round. I think it was a much more balanced side with Granville playing as 2nd hooker giving macca a breather. it shows this team has way too many backrowers and hook should consider putting glen or thaiday on the bench next week.

Hoffman still a passenger at 5/8. its only a matter of time he costs us a game by not passing. the worst thing about tonights coverage was listening to ray Hadley's long winded tangents!

tell me about it. there'll be something exciting happening in the game and he'll be talking about someone's great grandpa who lives in woop woop

Hadley is a fucking wanker who should just stick to radio. Anyone know how long his contract with 9 is for?

McCullough is just a freak, funny how most people were downing him at the start of the season. Now look at him.

Can't remember the name of the poster (Carmac?) but I said, pre-season, that I think Macca would be one of our best all year. His response "I think you're wrong". I'm looking pretty right at this stage tbh

He had a 3 on 1 and went himself. He had Reed unmarked....went the other way. Great finisher but that's it.
