Round 7 Discussion

10 all on stroke of halftime. Bring on the second half. Go Warriors :)

I don't understand how Storm supporters rate Fonua, No pace + poor defense + mistakes that put the team under pressure. Too early for first grade.

Do they?

Don't think they have too many wraps on their backs. Seen them talk up McGahan and Tonumaipea heaps.

Both teams with 1/3 completions to start the second half. Not a high quality game but gee it's been entertaining so far.

Shaun Johnson intercepts a Widdop pass and scores, no one even came close to chasing him down.

C'mon Broncos, sign that bloke!

Warriors attempting a penalty goal from near the sideline to take the lead.

I thought the Cronk pass was forward tbh.

But still, that was a nice effort from Chambers. J-Ro is making him look like GI.

I needed that try too, getting absolutely hammered in SVRL!

Storm are a strange side. They're without a doubt the best team in the competition, but there hasn't been any consistensy in their performances other than they've done enough to win. Compare last night to Round 6 for instance and they're two completely performances. They're like the classic villain who comes so close to getting caught but somehow someway comes out victorious. It's difficult to really give credit to any particular aspect. This isn't like the Broncos where you say the forwards and the left-side combination has stepped up, it's just the class of the organisation.

Moving forward, tonight's game shapes up as a play-off for the second best team in the competition - Manly hosting Souths at the Fortress. I feel like the home ground advantage should give the Sea Eagles the advantage but could go either way. Both teams are very similar in that they play a structured brand of football but their strengths mostly come from their ability to control the ruck. As a team, I believe Manly are superior but in terms of who has the higher ceiling well, a team comprising of GI, Luke and the Burgess bros. is always going to be hard to stop. Can't wait to see how it plays out and hopefully we have ourselves a classic encounter.

Yeah, however they seem to step it up a notch when they play against the better teams. I wasn't impressed with their performance against the Tigers and thought they'd get a touch up from the Bunnies, but they rose to the occasion and got the better of them.
