Round 7 Discussion

That's a no try all day. As soon as you run behind your player, it's a penalty.

@ningnangnong do they allow cans at hunter stadium? Nine just showed some old fella drinking a can of xxxx gold.

Haha, pretty sure it's plastic cups only - at least it has been every time I've been there.

Sounds like a Newy thing to do though, take half a dozen tinnies down to the footy on Sunday arvo.

Lol what the actual ****, Tigers blow a 22-0 lead at home.

**** off you useless *****.

I like the new NRL concussion rule. Finally some actual protection for the players, not leaving it up to coaches or even club medicos whether a player should come back.

In line with that though, I wouldn't be against having an emergency sub (18th man) for cases like this.

What are these new rules? Has there been a recent change?

Well, from what I've heard (but haven't seen it in official writing), once a player comes off through the concussion rule, he can't go back in, and the decision whether a player comes off, isn't optional anymore either, but taken by a NRL official.

Sounds interesting, I guess that's kind of like the independent doctor rule, but would like to know more on exactly what the changes are.

It was changed not long ago.

The rules have been tightened – and made more prescriptive – to make it easier for doctors to make what can be a difficult clinical diagnosis. In broad terms, the new rules stipulate that players must not return to the field if they exhibit any of the following signs:

- Loss of consciousness
- Falling to the ground without taking protective action
- Seizure
- Memory impairment
- Balance disturbance (ataxia)

The refs are very inconsistent with the obstruction rule.

Galloway ran through the line and did not impede a single person. Farah ran behind him and not a single defender stopped going for Farah.

What Farah did was allowed quite a few times last year. Maranta scored a try against the Bulldogs after Hunt ran behind Hannant.

It was awarded because the defending team wasn't disadvantaged by it.

The incident in the Tigers game was no different.

I didn't have a problem with it and I thought it should have been a try.

Sharks up 4-0 after 17 minutes..

Rain is pouring down so it could be a close match.

Sharks are in.

Ennis puts a grubber through and Lewis pounces on it.

Well.. That sucks.

Souffs are in.

Alex Johnston has to be one of the most overrated wingers, don't get me wrong in no way is he bad or lazy, it's just nearly every single one of his tries all he has to do is put the ball down.

Although some wingers fail at even that, so I guess it's not that easy.

Lol that was funny.

Good one Ennis.

Never thought I'd say this, but shit that was a nice set play off the scrum by the Sharks. Especially in the conditions

How do you miss a field goal from that close?
