PRE-GAME Round 7 - Dragons vs Broncos

Hearing Vossy in that call as opposed to Hadley brought a tear to my eye.

I think it was last year, perhaps the year before when after 5/6 rounds the Titans were flying high. Similarly, this year the Knights were sailing along until they hit shallow waters. That is all it takes, a little bit of complacency coupled with a dud ref call and throw in an injury or two and suddenly we can look very wobbly. Until we kick 8 points clear ( ha ha ) then I will look towards each and every game being totally prepared for a loss.

I remember poster after poster saying ' it's only Cronulla ' last year and they got up from 24 down to belittle us. I expect WB to do everything he knows how ,to guard us against getting Mundine Syndrome ( now recognised in all good medical textbooks ) Despite my faith in the great man, even he may not be able to stop the younger minds from becoming blasé.

The last time a Bennett coached Broncos side took on the Dragons.

The good thing is, we won't have to put up with Gasnier or Cooper tearing us to shreds..

Who are our 1,2,3,4,5 in that game? I don't recognise any of them for certain. Before my time as a serious supporter (Due to age). League seemed a much better game back then it certainly has changed a lot.

We were missing two of our key players in Hunt and Hodges for that one.

The dragons are playing some good footy today. Defensively sound like they've been all season and their attack has been classy.

Not the highest quality match but they don't look like the walk overs some of you are expecting them to be. It should be a tough low scoring game for us next week.

We'll be fine.

Frizzle with that high shot most likely won't be playing next weekend, has been pretty good for the Dragons today too.

Frizzell should be missing on an enforced holiday. Bonus for us.

No way I would be taking Saints lightly, they are playing some good footy at the moment. We need to approach this game the same way we started against the Roosters and maintain the rage for 80 minutes. From the looks of it they will have won 4 straight going into our game.

The Bulldogs may not have thrown a lot at them but that was one of the best defensive performances of any team this season. Some of the tackles those Dragons made were of finals quality and you better believe the Broncos are going to have to aim up.

We did it last year when the Dragons were one of the form teams of the competition, we'll need to do it again.

It should be a beauty and you better believe the Dragons will want to make a statement after Bennett walked out on signing with them.

They thought they had him but Wayne had other ideas.

Absolutely a danger game.... the Dragons are chock full of confidence and don't mind playing a bit of touch football in attack when it suits.

Rein looks quick out of dummyhalf too so the marker play needs to be spot on as well.

I'm hoping Thaiday continues with his "enforcer" role and a few other forwards follow suit, and Milford does a lot more running with the ball from behind rather than in the line.

Our support play looks on the improve too. When Hunt went in for the winning try, he got the final pass from Gillett who ran around Hunt and followed him all the way to the line. Good to see.

I wouldn't look too much into the Dragons performance. The Dogs were in all sorts from the word go. They have had a terrible week off field, missing Graham and Klemmer as such, they were never going to be in the right mind set. Merge were at a training session.

It's better that they won for us anyway. The last thing that shit team needs is complacency

The last time Broncos were looking at 9 straight wins against the Dragons, we lost.

We made the trip down to WIN Stadium in Round 23, 2001. Unfortunately, we just couldn't come up with a win.

If we win, that will be our longest winning streak against them.

This game has the potential to be a cracker. Both sides are on winning streaks and a really priding themselves on their defensive efforts of late. The attack from both teams is also really starting to spring to life and there's always been a good rivalry between the two sides. It's going to be awesome.

The dogs were making plenty of breaks but couldnt string anything together. Great effort from Dugan and Friz to hold up the dogs who did make it over the line.

The Dogs were offloading and getting second phase very easily today but just didn't know what to do with it, they bombed so many scoring opportunities. We have a better pack than the Dragons and should be able to copy the Dogs in terms of offloads. Milford really needs to be following Parker/McG/Blair/et al all game and make the most of the holes we'll create. We should win this comfortably but won't if we go into the game thinking that.
