Round 7 - Dragons vs Broncos

Our attack just isn't good enough with the 1 half we have. I'm sorry, but Milford just isn't one at all.

Great now the Dragons are premiership favourites. Sickening

One of the universal soldier movies on One. That was an even bigger train wreck than this game.

Welp, there's no escaping it, a few of our best players had absolute mares tonight. Milford and Hunt were completely outclassed. The front row wasn't too crash hot either. **** ups from Vidot alone were a 12 point turnaround.

Disappointing.

I know not many will agree, but Bennett is a stubborn fuckwit. Boyd, kahu, maranta and hodges all go down, and yet Milford still doesn't get moved to the back. We buy him as one of the best, most exciting fullbacks in the game and he's not even 5th choice fullback? **** off.

Milford probably contributed to about 50% of the errors tonight. At least 5 knock-ons

WB is the jinx.

We win against the Dragons when he was their coach, now he is our coach again we lose against them.

**** I'm cranky.

Refs can suck a dick. May as well have been wearing red and white. That was fucking pathetic.

Vidot.....Vidot. Oh man. That could be the last time in Broncos colours, which is a shame because I genuinely like the guy and he can bring a lot of good. And he did good tonight as well, a try, some strong runs....just some terrible errors that were well more than the difference.

Happy to persevere with Milf, maybe he needs a week off though. I think some of the handling errors were as a result of his elbow strapping, but he clearly wasn't up to playing tonight. Maybe he was upset about not being FB, and I could understand why too. I have faith in Wayne, but that was a gamble that didn't come off.

We were obviously stuffed from the Roosters game, it was obvious in the first few mins. To come so close, and we should have won that - anyone saying the Dragons are genuine title contenders should be laughed at. Loudly.

In positives:
- Macca was outstanding, once again. He's really getting consistent and in my mind there is no doubt he should be the next QLD hooker when Smith is injured or retires. He's not the flashiest, but he's a Smith clone!!
- Dodds was also amazing. I was so upset when he got injured, and he dropped off everyone's radar in the meantime - he brings a bit of fear to the opposition with his hits. He's an enforcer for sure.
- Glenn was again really good until he got injured. We'll miss his energy - he should get a new contract IMO.
- That game was again within reach. We were in second gear all game, at our best we wipe them by 30 if they play like that.

So....fucking cranky, but it was a loss that was coming sooner rather than later. Hopefully none of the injuries are too serious. Especially dirty since I changed my tips from the Dragons to the Broncs at the last minute today :(

It's a pity that Vidot's work in goal let him down because he ran over 200 metres tonight.

He could have run for 400 tonight, I don't care, he was shit. He can resume his NRL career in the forwards. Him and Reed are second rowers, whether their first grade second rowers is another discussion all together.

Where have you been! Good to see you back though mate, and great post. :handshake:

Haha hey ning, thanks for the welcome ;) MIA again....full time work + after-hours uni + 3 kids under 7 = crazybusylittledavey lol. Been loving this year so far! :D I still lurk every now and then, and needed somewhere other than FB to vent tonight :takdir:

First up. Majorly disappointed with effort and more so with execution tonight. As previously posted, it's like we were stuck in 2nd gear for the entire game. Irrespective of refs and injuries that is a game we still should have won.
It's not entirely due to their performance but where were our halves tonight? Yes Milf had a shocker but Hunt was MIA all game. Even when our forwards were over the ad line we did nothing.
Never bagged WB before but it seemed overtly stubborn not to put Milford to fullback after half time. If we insist on playing him at 6 then structure our play to accomodate that desire.
Sorry, structuring play was not an option tonight because that requires holding on to the ball. Really really bad tonight.
I'd like to write more but kids will be up early and I'm a bit pissy and still REALLY pissed off so chalk it up to "Loss we had to have". I hate that saying but it describes the effort Broncs put in tonight. At least it's not finals or post SOO time.
Still got a ways to go but we've got the potential to win this year's competition.
