Who said he's a savior? He's a solid impact forward who really hasn't had a decent chance to prove himself.

He is a liability is defence. Sounds like he is coming into decent form in Q cup which is handy though. He has missed a lot of footy so getting bigger minutes in Q Cup is good for him.

Hala should come into the side this week for sure. Dunno about Maranta at 5/8, but I'd have him at Fullback no problem. He's the safest in the team under the highball and has a good football brain.

Hook isn't going to change anything. On past form, he will keep the same side in the hope his golden boys will find form.

Other teams know Barba is down on form, so they will keep bombing him with an avalanche of runners aiming at him. Something needs to change here.

We are now 7th on the table, and tomorrow, maybe 8th or 9th. After the Knights game?

I'll repeat my Maranta, sorry, mantra. You can't mix it with the best with just 1 half.

The choice Hook gives us is to sit and watch and hope. Maybe when we slide down to 12th or so, he might have 2nd thoughts and make some necessary changes.

To my mind, it's not a coaching issue at the moment.

The Broncos built belief in themselves, so much so they were guilty of complacency against "lesser" opposition in the Eels and Titans.

We've got a long way to go.

It would help if Barba was at least breaking even.

I would prefer to focus on reality.

We are not 6-0.

In my view, on form, which is all that counts, the Eels are not a lesser team and the Titans, whatever you think of them, beat us, and are on top of the table.

We are back to the predictable old ways of bash barge and bomb and hope that our special players will pull rabbits out of hats to score, as opposed to creative plays.

I can only imagine the difference Mullen would make to our attack.

Nevertheless, I will never give up on my team, but it is becoming progressively more difficult to be optimistic.

If we were 6-0 playing the predictable, dysfunctional slop we have been for the best part of two seasons I wouldn't be all that excited because I'd know we were living on borrowed time at the top of the ladder ... The Titans are 5-1 but I'll give you any odds you want they won't be anywhere near top spot / the top four and probably even the top eight by round 26 ...

You've gotta look at the quality of football a team is playing and or the amount of upside / improvement they have left in the tank .. The Roosters are 2-4 but will likely be 14-7 or thereabouts in a few months because they have the quality structures, systems and personnel to win a lot of football games ..

On the game, I hope Hodges picks up his form otherwise Leilua is going to have a field day with him. He is pretty much unstoppable when given room to move. It will be an interesting match up, Hodges vs Leilua.
